“Absolutely Earned...STELLAR Rating!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

From arrival to departure, the entire staff of the Carmel Country Inn oversaw our (including
the dog) well-being and satisfaction. The rooms are immaculate. The attention to detail is almost overwhelming. The morning/afternoon/evening assortments of food and beverage are perfect in every way...and plentiful. As an aside, the whirlpool tub is oversized...the room decorations are
apropos in appropriateness..., and the location guarantees a quiet, restful stay (as in no bars
across the street). We have not stayed at every high-rated/ranked hotel/inn on the Monterey Peninsula..., and we will not get the chance...because this is now home-away-from-home. In conclusion, all expectations were greatly exceeded (we're not easy to satisfy), and the staff was
INCOMPARABLE in anticipating and fulfilling our every desire. WELL DONE, COUNTRY INN!

Room Tip: We were allowed...ENCOURAGED to step into and examine rooms other than ours. If there's a bad r...

The Carmel Country Inn is simply a fantastic place to stay, especially if you have pets. We just got back home after our trip to Carmel and already miss the Inn and its people that take such good care of us. They are always warm, helpful and ready to love our dogs. It is a perfect location to get to all of Carmel by the Sea and such an easy walk to the beach. The dogs and we loved mornings on the beach and then time to relax on the desk and watch the people and Tescher go by.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice, but if you must have quite all the time, I would choose the second floor. Th...

We stayed in the Queen room for three nights. We found the accommodation comfortable. Although the website said the Queen room shares a common wall with the main area so it may not be the most quiet, we did not find this to be the case. It is located on a secluded street but close to all restaurants, shops, beaches (everything in Carmel is within walking distance). The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had many choices and the same goes for the snacks later in the day. Carmel is a charming place for a vacation.

Room Tip: Next time, if staying for longer than a night or two, we would stay in a larger room/suite to give u...

This place is in a nice, quiet section within walking distance of main carmel By-The-Sea Ocean Ave. district. Room was clean, nicely appointed, and adequate size. Jetted tub, comfy bed. Staff was very helpful and friendly, professional and respectful. Not invasive of privacy as some B&B's tend to be in attempt to be folksy. This place is just a genuine hotel-like operation with good light breakfast choices, though lacking adequate seating if a lot come at once. Recoomend trying here.

Just came back from a 4 day week-end. Stayed here and are so glad we did....The staff is accommodating (even got us an extra chair for our room) and so pleasant.. The hotel is quaint and clean...Convenient to town (walking distance). Breakfast is wonderful....Beds are comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more..

I have been staying here with my family & dogs for years & wouldn't consider anyplace else in Carmel. The guest rooms are consistently clean & extraordinarily comfortable with all necessary amenities. The grounds with all of the flowers are spectacular as well. The staff is, to a person, friendly, accomodating, & knowledgeable about the area. All are clearly animal lovers. I love the fact that the inn is a little ways off the 'tourist track', yet close enough to downtown Carmel to walk there is a jiffy. (Many, many restaurants are within walking distance, but I have to say I never take advantage for breakfast since the 'spread' at the Inn is so fantastic - definitely something for everyone.) We've gotten to know some lovely 'fellow travellers' in this setting & very much look forward to future visits.

Room Tip: If you are a person who needs 'space' when you travel with friends or family, the 2 bedroom...

The reviews are consistent regarding the warm and friendly staff and we found this to be true. We also loved getting some love from the house cat.

Our room had a separate sitting area and since we were a Mother/Daughter traveling together, it was nice to have the extra space. At first I was concerned to be on the street, but the Inn slopes up, so it didn't feel like people walking by could peak in. It's a quiet street so we were not disturbed. The large bathroom with the jacuzzi tub was also a plus.

We were able to borrow two movies and help ourselves to some snacks. Breakfast was more than sufficient. It is a few blocks to town and very dark when you return. We brought a flashlight. This didn't bother me, but as my Mom is getting older, she actually wanted me to drive.

They gave us a great recommendation on a new little cafe a few blocks away. I can't remember the name, but we had to stop by again on the way home to bring some morning buns and cupcakes.
