Carmel has many restaurants, so It's a particular treat to find one that combines wonderful food, excellent service and value. That defines Patisserie Boissiere. I had been there many years ago, so when it was recommended by two friends, so we decided to try it. We were impressed by every facet.
The ambience has an old school charm, and menu is very traditional French. Seldom am I torn between entrees as I was at Patisserie Boissiere. I settled on duck, a favorite that I have difficulty preparing at home. My friend chose Boeuf Bouguignonne.
I have never had better had better duck. It was crispy but tender. A wonderful apricot sauce. My freind loved her dinner as much.
For dessert we chose from their large selection of pasties in the display case up front, where locals and visitors can purchase desserts to take home, too.
The wine list was varied with a number of selections by the glass.
The biggest surprise was the bill. I rarely judge a restaurant by its prices, but theirs combined with their food and service deserves mention.
My friend and I have alrealy made plans to go back, and I encourage anyone selecting a Carmel eatery to consider Patisserie Boissiere..
