“Awesome stay in a beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We had an awesome time in Carmel! We were just here for one night but had an awesome time! Everyone that works there is incredible and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Prettiest beach in California is just 3 blocks away. The B&B is in a perfect location.

“Exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Peaceful, quiet, clean. Wonderful, friendly, available staff. Particularly enjoyed our encounters with Mel. She was delightful and we found much in common. We also particularly enjoyed both the continental breakfasts and the Brie and Merlot in the evenings around the fire pit and with other guests, Since we were already downtown, we had easy access to many shops and restaurants and did not move our car from it's nearby off street parking for two days. We will return to this inn.

“Dog and People Friendly - what a great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Wow - what a great place - we were so sad to leave! We started out getting a killer deal thanks to an off-season special. We stayed in the Sea Star. It wasn't our first choice, and we would probably pick a different cabin next time. Apparently there were elephants staying in the suite upstairs!

Great ammenities though, and very clean. We let them know our pup would be with us and there was a great dog blanket and treats waiting for her. The bed was huge and comfortable, and although we used the fire place I think there was a little radiator heat in the room because it was warm in the morning. The furnishings are adorable.

I would suggest longer drapes on the door window though...they are too shrt and you can see right on to the bed. Awkward... Also, the showerhead should be replaced. It was all over the place!

Lovely wine/cheese reception around a beautiful fire pit, great staff who are engaged and genuine. It's only a couple of blocks away from the beach so you really don't have to move your car the whole time you're there.

We will be back for sure...too bad it can't be next weekend!

Room Tip: We weren't crazy about the Sea Star. Although the outside noise didn't bother us, if there...

“All were very happy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

The staff were friendly and accommodating. We were looking for a dog friendly lodging. Highly recommend for dog folks and non-doggie folks. convenient to walking Carmel and the beach. Loved the outdoor fire pit. Will return. Only thing that sparked our booking was the 1/2 price in January.

“Relaxing and warm atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

Arrived in Carmel with the intension of staying at The Mission Ranch looked at a room and decided it looked like an old people's home....so went into town and had a good look around popped into many hotels/inns and didn't like any of them, apart from the Cypress Inn but high end and a bit formal, but great for dinner / bar great staff and atmosphere...

then came across the Lamplighter Inn and was greeted by the resident cat on the mat, and a very warm welcome from the lady in the office, straight away i knew I liked the place. After I booked I discovered its top two out of 32 B&B's on here and so the place is obviously consistent and not a one off.

A nautical fresh feel throughout with a lovely fire place outside for the generous wine and cheese night and a chat to the other guests.

Great location just on the hill up from the beach which is one if the best I discovered on the coast from LA to San Fran, busy and lovely on the main beach and very doggy...but you can find empty rmore remote beaches paths just along the coast....

Then the 17 Mile drive is a must....riding on Pebble beach a must....

And a great mouch about town and restaurants I would say the perfect and stylish beach town!

Couldnt fault anything and as a hotelier myself I am critical....

Room Tip: All looked good to me but a log fire woud be a request ....
