We have been to Carmel on many occasions and stayed at this Inn a handful of times. It is sort of at the top/ enterance to Carmel-By-the-Sea, so it might not be the closest to the beach but still a pleasent and reasonable walk to it. There is a little market right down the street which is good for picking up snacks for the beach and almost right across the street is the begining of the main area of shops and resturants.
The main draw for us is the pricing and location. There is nothing too special about the Inn, it is what you would expect for a Comfort Inn. If you have intentions of spending lots of time in your room, then you might be disopointed about this no thrills Inn, but really all the good stuff is not in your room anyways when you visit a place such as Carmel.

I recently stayed here for a week while on business and I cannot say enough about how great Susie. the host, treated me. She is friendly and helpful way beyond what I have experienced at any other hotel. The location is perfect, the rooms are modern and attractive, the bathroom is clean and more tastefully decorated than some more expensive hotels I have stayed at. And Susie made my waffle for me, it was perfect! I will return again soon!

We stayed here one night as we made our way down the central coast. We loved Carmel and we loved the Comfort Inn. The hotel is in the village on Ocean Avenue, Carmel's main street. Strolling through town after dark when all the mini-lights was nice.

This Comfort Inn is a wonderful place to stay. The exterior is charming like the village itself. Large trees, a brick courtyard, pretty flowers on the grounds and in window boxes, and Dutch doors make for a very attractive hotel. There aren't many rooms in the inn so the property seems small and homey, especially with Dutch doors leading into all the rooms. Parking is somewhat limited but the spaces are very close to the rooms.

Our clean room had a very comfy king bed, flat screen TV, free wi-fi, fridge, microwave, blow dryer, iron & ironing board, granite counter, bronze style bathroom fixtures, and toiletries. Next time we will get a more quiet 2nd floor room (which is actually at the street level).

The complimentary hot breakfast was good, and the little breakfast nook cute and cozy although we could have taken our food to one of the little outside tables to eat.

We will return to Carmel and will definitely return to stay at this awesome little inn!

Once again we met our friends from Austin, TX in Carmel. What an amazing place to meet. This was our 3rd stay at Comfort Inn, Carmel By the Sea. Each time we had a different room. So I can only imagine that all the rooms are wonderful! The accommodations MORE than expected, large and CLEAN and everything in tip top working order. Great walking to shopping, dinner, and the beach. SUSIE is gracious and runs a first class operation. We will be back and already looking forward to our fourth visit!
