“Cozy and off the beaten path!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

This B&B is quaint and tucked away off the main road (Beach Ave) and a short walk to shops, park, and beach. Includes breakfast, which is very simple (too simple) Belgian waffles, cereal, or oatmeal. There's some toast, butter and jam as well. Coffee is available and small sitting area is cute.

The rooms was cute. Had room 7 and the twin bed was in a separate room, but there's no door so not much privacy. The room is spacious and has dated furniture and decor. Fireplace in the room. No air conditioning, but a stand up fan. Television w a nice variety of channels and a big bathroom w a tub/shower. Windows in the bathroom open outward old English style and are opaque, but if you open them too far the residents on the balconies behind the building have a clear view ;) Only one trash in the whole room, which was in the bathroom. Comfy beds and plenty of outlets. Friendly staff.

The fridge and microwave are in the small kitchen located in the lobby. It's communal and only available to guests during lobby hours.

Old English style courtyard to enjoy the complimentary wine and crackers from 4-6p daily.

We had the "condo" all to ourselves (the... 2 of us), but unfortunately one of the windows mechanisms was broken, so we had to put up with a slight draught all night long (late Feb can be chilly, even in Carmel!) Breakfast only consisted of toast and coffee. Apart from that, the place was quiet, and right in the center of Carmel, with a parking lot for the customers. So not THE place I would drool over, but decent nevertheless.

Room Tip: The "condo" was large, with a view (from afar, but still!) on the ocean.

Stayed here previously and cannot believe how it has deteriorated. Sorry to say all the negative reviews are true. They even use tubs of margarine and bowls of jelly instead of individual servings at the breakfast bar. I really hate to write a bad review but this is not the place to stay.

Beautiful inn, really well located and comfortable. We stayed just one night but our room was so big we could actually live there (big batrooom, big kitchen, huge bed, and bunker bed). Includes a breakfast with waffles, parking and wifi. The Price was OK too. Really good sleep quality. I absolutely recommend it.

The room was hot. Tried to open the crank out windows but the handles were broken and I tried the other window and it had 3 large cracks it in. The furniture looked like resale shop specials. The pillow shams were shreds at the edges. Curtains had holes. The grout in the shower should be bleached. The TV was the huge ones we all threw away. Had a horrible time trying to get on the Internet. Could not get my money back. (Not to mention 28 steps to our room from the sidewalk level and there was no one to help with luggage.)

Room Tip: Run the other way I would rather sleep in a tent.

This is absolutely the WORST place we have ever stayed. The owners (or managers, as they claim to be), refuse to take responsibility for simple expectations like running water and sheets without holes in them. The woman accused my 64 year old mother of being "a liar" about having holes in the bed sheets after i simply notified her about the situation in a very nice way. Instead of apologing for the problem in addition to a lack of running hot water and toilets that flush (so much to ask for, right?), she attacked me. You decide; but I don't recommend it...

Great location , In heart of downtown. The room is run down, needs a new rug, furniture and TV. The bathroom had a plastic towel rod, hinges were corroded, and the towel shelves were rusted or corroded. There were holes in the plastic curtain and the sheer curtains were not fully hooked. They were quite old. There is no coffee pot. The bed cover & pillows were old and thin. The complementary breakfast is toast, cereal, waffle, juice , coffee. Coffee is weak so if you're used to european grade or Starbucks, bring your own. I couldn't sleep because I felt dirty. The towels were about 3.5 feet long and thin. If you wrapped it around your body, they barely covered your bottom.
