“Wonderful food, good atmosphere, expensive.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

This is justifiably rated one of the best restaurants in Carmel. The atmosphere is romantic, quiet and quaint. The food is outstanding. The wine list is tip top. The food however is expensive. Be prepared to spend $150 for a dinner for two that includes the most modest wine on the list.

“most charming restaurant in Carmel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

if you want an outstanding dinner in the most charming atmosphere - visit Casanova! Although it is a huge restaurant you cannot tell because there are so many rooms and courtyards and areas, it seems pure French charm!

“Very special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Atmosphere at Casanova's it unique. It is larger than it looks from the street, but still very cozy and intimate. We were able to sit outside, which was wonderful. Stuffed squash blossom salad and the grilled artichoke and mushroom appetizer were both too good to be true. Seafood linguine was outstanding, as was a lamb special. Of the 4 upscale places were we ate in Carmel-by-the-sea, Casanova's stands out.
Agree that wine list is way too much to digest for someone who is not a student of wines. We ended up with an excellent bottle, however.

“Tucked away on a side street but worth to find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

We came across this place by accident so we gave it a try, the wine list is a bit OTT 49 pages and an index! However we had the seafood linguine which looked and tasted fantastic.

“Make sure not to miss this place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Casanova is a well know destination, and we neve miss going there when in Carmel. The patio seating is very comfortable and relaxing. The food is exceptional, with a unique take on a spinach souffle Gnocchi and a great scampi dish. Site back and enjoy a glass or bottle of wine from a very extensive wine menu.
