“Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Booked this hotel for a trip to Carmel. I was very impressed with the Hotel generally and the comfort a space in the rooms. The hotel grounds are very well maintained and the staff welcoming. The hotel is a few miles out of Carmel but offer more spacious accomodation than you might find in town. Also the imeadiate surroundings of the hotel were very pleasant with a good Bar/ Restaurant 50yards away and a few interesting shops. would absolutely reccomend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking over the lake.

Just returned from a two night stay at the Quail Lodge. From the moment I pulled up, the fantastic staff made me feel like part of a family, and completely at ease -- a welcome way to start a vacation. I stayed in an incredible suite that felt modern (a bathroom/shower/patio that cannot be put into words), but also homely and rustic (a fireplace/den like sitting area, hard wood floors, and the most comfortable bed I've possibly ever slept in). Management has done an unbelievable job transforming the lodge into a top notch resort that never feels pretentious, but instead warm and inviting. Perfectly placed windows allow for natural light, flickering candles adorn a tremendous chandelier hanging in the lobby, and a large patio sits atop a duck filled lagoon. There is a fitness center with three rooms designated for cardio, weight and stretching, a large pool surrounded by comfy chairs that receive sunlight all throughout the day, and 9 holes of putting greens bordered by an 18-hole world class golf course.

The continental breakfast is enough to fill you up for the day, and once again the staff does an incredible job of keeping everything stocked and clean. The same goes for the housekeeping staff that left our room tidy and full of goodies. I was told the Lodge was at full capacity, but never once did the grounds feel crowded.

As you can see, I can't say enough good things about the Quail Lodge. I had a fantastic trip and cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: The suites feel like your own personal cottage.

this hotel was beautiful and spacious. it was about 8 miles away from the heart of Carmel, but totally worth the drive. Our room was a suite and there were four of us and there was plenty of room for all of us without tripping over each other. We even had a fireplace- which was nice. You wouldn't think that you'd need one in California in July, but we used it every day.
The pullout couch was even really comfortable!

We just returned from a long weekend in Carmel Valley and stayed at Quail Lodge. Our room was terrific. Here are the highlights - heated floors in the bathroom, remodeled 5 piece bathroom, comfortable king bed, nice furnishings, a little banquette for snacking, quiet balcony and a surprisingly good breakfast (oatmeal, fruit, - not just your typical pastries). A few things that may need to be improved - we like to sleep extra-cold and the A/C was not quite up to par. We tried to open the window but it was broken. So, for the first night we slept with the door to the balcony open. Not ideal. They fixed the window the next day and the cool evening air made the room cold enough. We had one glitch - when we returned from sight-seeing in the village the next day, the trash had been emptied and the towels had all been removed. The bed was not made which was not a big deal but we were towel-less! It took a couple of phone calls to get towels and we never could figure out why our room was not tidied. But, all in all, we really loved this place and plan to return.

The resort hotel is well managed. Houses are built next to lakes, trees, lawns and golf greens. The room is sizable and well appointed with high quality furniture and appliances. Bed is very big and comfortable and the big LED HD TV can show some good golf channels. The hotel service craw are efficient and friendly. The reception room has nice rest areas where guests can relax, although this place can be a bit crowded when breakfast is served in the morning.

On business in the region I booked Quail Lodge to check what changes the multi-year renovation may have delivered. I was pleasantly suprised at both the price and lodgings, sure they have slimmed down the services (read: schlep your own bags) but it was certainly offset by a bar serving bernardus sauvignon blanc by the glass, guestroom with gorgeous hardwood floors and chic, tricked out amenities, a sunken tub and patio overlooking the water feature and adjacent golf course. Steal of a deal and in the heart of carmel valley where the weather is always superb. Will return, clubs in hand.

Room Tip: Nearby, cash in on a variety of great local food including wickets for alfresco lunch and lokal for...
