“The largest baked spud”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

One of the best sunset restaurants and bar in all the coast of Ca.
Every dinner I have had, and that over 20 years, has been GREAT!
Order a steak and baked potato and see the largest spud around.
Great spot just for a drink anytime but get there for the sunset and fall in love.
not a kids place if you wish to make other dinners happy.

“Incredible view, must go, pricey!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Incredible view on the patio. Very expensive so my family ordered 4 clam chowders, and 4 drinks and still spent over $60 with tip.
However it was worth it!! The soup and bread was perfect!! Dog friendly.
We will come here on every trip. ***If your daring; from the parking lot there are some steep paths that lead down to some wonderful tide pools. But it's slightly dangerous. I suggest hiking down around 10am and then climbing back up for some lunch.

“A PLACE LIKE NO OTHER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We came in on Saturday, we were sat at a table right at the window. We were greeted right away by our server Brenda who was charming, friendly and sweat. We could tell she was busy but she never stopped smiling and was very attentive to us. I had the Rocky Point burger which was excellent, my friend had the calamari which was divine. We both shared the cobbler also very tasty. Our server spotted out some killer whales for us which was so awesome to see. Our over all experience was magical... beyond our expectations! Truly a place like no other. We will definitely be back.

“Enjoy the $pectacular View.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Rocky Point Restaurant has, undeniably, one of the very best locations on the coast. It also has a rather pricey lunch menu, but good service and mostly tasty food. Our group ordered the Smoked Salmon on Brioche sandwich ($20) and the Grilled Fiscallini Cheddar sandwich ($17). One of us chose french fries and the other two the house salad as sides. The salads were fresh and appealing, but the house dressing, which was supposed to feature maple syrup(?!) was greenish, flat and somewhat sour with no evidence of anything maple; we opted for the balsamic vinegar and oil choice. The salmon sandwiches were tasty and fresh and the cheese sandwich, made with carmelized onions, was delicious. Portions were generous, and we received our orders in an average amount of time, hot and attractively presented.
There is a nice path outside to the "rocky point" with a wonderful view of the Bixby Bridge near Big Sur.

“The name fits the food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

I guess this place took up new ownership. The scenic views are wonderful and the wait staff was decent. When we went, they were out of a few things which was a total bummer. The food was tasty which only slightly made up for the price of the food. Corkage fee 20.00... Wha..? It's a good place to splurge but would I go there again? Maybe if I wanted to blow some bucks and still be hungry . Liking it or not liking it is a rocky decision for me. There's just too many other places to go ya know? It was a good time with flavorful food but just overpriced.
