“Great view, good food but needs some work”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Our friends were staying here and we were at Pebble Beach so we met for dinner one night. Had a window table which is a must, view is fantastic! Food was good, no problem doing a split plate and still getting enough. The wine list is way overpriced with very little choice under about $150 it seemed. Felt like just another hotel with an overpriced menu. The place feels dated with a lobby really just more like a vacation ownership sales office. Could be real nice with some work.

“Pay to View”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

The view is spectacular but the food and drinks are terribly overpriced. We had a robot-like server who made every one of $15 cocktails even less enjoyable. When I go to a restaurant, especially a high-end one like Pacific's Edge, I expect to see wide smiles on all staff to welcome me.

“Four cocktails and a slice of "cheesecake" for $70. Including 15% off.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

This is apparently the only restaurant in Carmel with views of the ocean, and, appropriately, they have a Sunset Lounge. The staff were great, we weren't treated like scum for being a couple of underdressed 20-something year olds, and the waitress gave us %15 off of our bill just because (she probably knew a couple of underdressed 20-something year olds couldn't afford to enjoy themselves at a restaurant like Pacific Edge). My husband and I had two cocktails each (the menu said hand crafted cocktails $15, we hoped regular cocktails would be cheaper, as there were no other price listings. They were not.) and the cheesecake, see picture. A stick a little longer than my middle finger. The bill was $70. We did have a great view of the sun setting into the water. But I would've much rather bought a grocery store cheesecake and taken our hotel towels down ocean avenue and sat on the shore watching the sun sink.

“perfect for special occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

we were excited about our second leg of our vacation and ready for something special on our first night in Carmel. Didn't feel like getting back in the car and driving into town, so we splurged for a great night in at the hotel. We asked for a table by the windows with the full view of the ocean and we got it. Fabulous experience up close and personal with the waves. The staff was fabulous -- attentive but not intrusive. The food was beyond good -- worth every penny. Great kickoff to our experience of Carmel.

“Window Seat Please!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

This is a really nice place! A friend had told us about the restaurant, and luckily they were willing to seat us without the proper attire. Service was excellent and all of our food was great. We luckily got a window seat, which had amazing views. Cocktails are super pricey and portions are small, but that's to be expected with fine dining.
