“400 REASONS TO RETURN”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

A laid-back burger joint in the heart of Carmel (well maybe not in the ‘heart’ but the right side…). It was a treat to get to 400 Degrees. While it’s nothing special – it fulfills the need and desire for a good burger and fries. It’s not fancy; but it does deliver the taste of a well prepared hamburger. Cooked to perfection – juicy, medium (the way I requested), with their special sauce (aka thousand island). I wasn’t expecting anything really really special – but 400 Degrees gave me 400 more reasons to return…. So, what wrong with it????? The service was a bit spotty, confusing and not well laid out. But the wait staff (and manger) found us – right there in the restaurant…ready to bite into a good and satisfying burger. On our rating scale of “A” to “F” the 400 Degrees gets a “B”.

Garlic fries are fantastic! Good service, food and atmosphere! If you are passing through Carmel in Big Sur direction, take a time for a real American Burguer

“Sometimes you just need a burger”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

When it was time to take a break from all the upscale cuisine in Carmel we headed to 400 degrees for burgers. They were simple but extremely tasty and perfectly cooked. Great fries and coleslaw too. Highly recommend.

“A veggie burger made in heaven.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

400 Degrees- and yes that is the name except it uses the degree sign instead of the word- makes their own veggie patties fresh every morning. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and stopped by out of curiosity over the restaurant's name. One bite of the veggie burger took us from curiosity to delight. I have never tasted a veggie that approached the care showered on this most humble, and often maligned, of vegan entrees. 400 Degrees is not a vegan place and that is what made this find doubly wonderful. These guys care about food and the quality shows in every item. The bun is a brioche and baked locally and its texture perfectly complemented the veggie burger. Whenever we visit Carmel, you will find us at this restaurant.

“Great burgers!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

We happened upon this place and decided to try it. The burgers, fries, and onion rings were very good! The burgers were a bit small and were expensive, but we would definitely eat here again. The service was great!
