4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014

The Adobe Inn is in a great location right in Carmel. Once we parked we never drove again, until we left. The staff was wonderful and courteous. Our room was supposed to have a balcony, but did not. Sergio, the owner, moved us into a larger room with 2 balconies for the same price. There are cookies available in the lobby and a lovely Continental breakfast served to your room. The inn is very clean and had nice bedding.

Room Tip: Make sure and ask for a balcony.

My family, including our dog, spent two nights in the Adobe Inn mid-week, mid-March. The hotel has a great location near Ocean Ave. It has good off-street parking. That said our room was mediocre. Despite the fact that the Hotel did not appear to be busy, we were given a ground floor, handicap accessible room (a feature we did not require). Carpets were worn as was the indoor/ outdoor carpet on the balcony. They bring a continental breakfast to your room...muffins, cereal and fruit. Pretty mediocre. There are many dog friendly properties in Carmel. Unfortunately the Adobe didn't win us over and we will be checking out others in the future.

My husband and I always have a Special time when we stay at this warm hotel.Sergio is a wonderful general manager and always makes our stay Special.Cynthia, Barbara and Stephanie are very professional and friendly. Everyone, from housekeeping to office staff are willing to help you find the special restaurant or the scenic drive. We have been coming here for thirty five years and will continue to keep the Adobe Inn as our sanctuary get away. Thank you, Sergio and girls .

I've been staying here for literally decades, and it always improves. Park your car in covered underground garage (try to find that in Carmel!), and leave it because you won't need it. This place is so perfectly located that everything is a short walk away. The rooms are great, the pool is always hot, things are always clean, staff is always friendly. What's not to like!

We ended up with a very nice large room on the top floor. The rooms vary quite a bit in price, size and view etc. Best to ask what rooms are available and look at them. the bed, linens, etc were all good quality. the breakfast delivered to your room a very nice touch and a good continental breakfast. The central location is a bonus too...a few minutes down the hill to the beach and great restaurants steps away. We would stay here again.

My wife and I recently again visited Carmel CA--a town with many delightful hotels. On this vacation we chose to stay at the Adobe Inn without first having made reservations. We liked that the hotel was just two floors, was not sprawling and has a lovely garden. But more so it was the welcome we received that drew us in. For us, while the establishment is obviously important--it is the people who make the difference and General Manager, Sergio Javier made the difference for us. What a nice guy! Welcoming, charming and with a great sense of humour--we felt so at ease. And his lovely assistant/daughter, Stephany and assistant Cynthia addressed our requests and needs professionally and with grace. While the Adobe Inn itself provided most comfortable accomodation--we sincerely thank Sergio and the young ladies for their gracious welcome.

Room Tip: Our ground floor room with a balcony on the street, was quiet and comfortable.
