This motel was a huge disappointment. We rented the "Alouette" cottage. We were a group of 5 and thought a three bedroom cottage with a central seating area would be idea. WRONG. For $500 US a night, we expected something more than a run down motel room with comfy beds. Despite heaters, we were either freezing or too hot. The biggest problems were the back two bedrooms. There was a curious arrangement of doors, resulting in one neither bedroom having much privacy. The worst was the small bedroom. There was an illfitting door (no longer in use), leading outside. There were huge gaps of air around the door.... perhaps fine in summer. We were there over New Year's during very windy, rainy and cold conditions. All that cold air just blew into that bedroom, and rain seeped onto the floor. It is a miracle my 80 year old mother didn't get pneumonia. Never again! We left the Normandy to head up to Napa Valley, where we stayed in warm comfort at a luxury B&B, fully appointed, for less money. There were a few redeeming features about the Normandy - it is in a good location, the beds are comfortable and the lobby cat "Mr. Taffy" was a lesson in relaxation. I would not recommend the inn.
