Clean comfortable but reception dont make extra efforts. An extra pillow was a problem! They should forget
the idea of what was optimistically termed. "breakfast". A coffee machine in the corridor
would be better

Room Tip: Experience limited to one night but probably the upper floor is has more of an outlook.

Spent a couple of nights in Carmel this month with the family on summer holiday. Booked 2 nights in this average motel on Juniperro. I was attracted to the fact that they had a king suite with a separate living room with a day bed. The rooms were very average. Beds not particularly comfy, no chest or furniture to put clothes except a tiny closet and very tiny night stands. The wall outlets/electricity turn off unless the lights are on so you can't charge your cell, tablet... while asleep or out of the room. The included breakfast was quite sparse considering the $250 per night charge, but hey, it's Carmel. Nobody was in the breakfast room to refill the coffee. Overall, I would not stay here again. There are too many other options that are better. Also, I could hear the upstairs guests walking around at 2AM so overall not a great experience on several levels.

Although it looks like an older motel from the 50's or 60's, it is very well maintained, and probably extensively remodel. Our room was clean and newer looking with a fireplace, balcony with a partial ocean view, and an updated bathroom.

The property is within walking distance (2 blocks) of most of the shops, restaurants, and art galleries. The beach is quite a hike though and up-hill on the return. We did pay extra for an "ocean View" only to see mostly fog -- probably the time of year.

Bottom line: We would definitely return, but in March we would likely skip the "ocean view" upgrade.

Arrived in Carmel late with no where to stay, we drove around for a while passing the Inn quite a bit. Being tired decided to give it a one night try. Ended up staying for 3 nights. Location was perfect for us loved the shops and street running down to the lovely beach. Hotel bed was crisp and clean everything we needed, we do not usually stay in an inn but we would stay here again. Breakfast was included and was adequate Nothing flash or expensive but it does the job I would recommend this inn.

The room was clean, but a bit worn. The Inn is in an excellent location and although on a major intersection in town, was very quiet. Great price for the area. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was simple but fine. We would stay here again for the price and location alone.

Just stayed here. The suite was a good size and cleanish. Minor grumble. Tea and coffe could be better quality with milk and not powder. Also provide spoons and not sticks. Breakfast, while there was sufficient, the presentation is really poor. Paper plates. Really! It is all about the feel good factor and we could not eat and get out of there quick enough. Will not return.
