“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2009

We have been to a number of the Carmel restaurants over the years and this may be the best. The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. We had dinner there two of our three nights in Carmel.

“Special Occasion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2009

We had dinner here with several friends for my 50th birthday. It was a weeknight, so very quiet. The service was excellent and with humor. They arranged a birthday cake for us. With 8 diners, we had half that really thought it was excellent and the other half that thought it was good, not excellent. Hard to please all palettes and how high the bar might be. Nevertheless, no snafu's with service or food. I really enjoyed my meal as did my husband. The appetizers were delicious and fun. The corkage policy is that they will waive one fee for every bottle you buy. We brought two and bought 2, so no corkage. I would return.

“Always Exceptional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2009

Christopher's remains a rising star and favorite dining destination of Carmel residents and visitors. We have thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Our tastes run within the categories of chicken, fish and vegetarian and the attention given to serving the finest and freshest is always top rate. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, can make suggestions that won't disappoint. The wine list is terrific . . . and don't over look the cozy bar to enjoy a cocktail before dinner.

“A big disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2009

We chose this restaurant based on reviews. This was our 20th Anniversary and we wanted something special. We requested a nice table for the event and they gave us their best table. That was pretty much the only good thing all evening. The service was painfully slow. We didn't get our water until after our appetizer. We didn't get our bread until after our appetizer. Both were promised when we sat down. I ordered one of the dinner specials only to be told after 15 minutes that they had run out. There were only a handful of tables at the time so I'm not sure what was the problem there. They promised to prepare something else with the same sauce as the special. They didn't. My husband ordered the fish and it was overdone and dry. Nobody came by to top up our wine glasses. They comped us a dessert because we complained. We hardly ever complain but for a big night it was an even bigger disappointment. The dessert was good though. I would pass and look for something else.

“Very Nice Evening at Christopher's on Lincoln”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2009

This past Fri. night we enjoyed a very lovely dinner at Christopher's on Lincoln in Carmel. Our table for 2 by the window was perfect, in front of the glowing fireplace. We brought in a bottle of Gary Farrell Pinot Noir to accompany our dinner. The corkage fee was $20 and the wine was wonderful with dinner. For starters we ordered the Pan Friend Green Tomatoes with basil, parmesan, romano, garlic and housemade tomato sauce. A very nice starter and the Tomato sauce was excellent. My entree was the Loch Duart Salmon from Scotland which was prepared with some white wine, brown sugar, meyer lemon, caper berries and came with crispy red creamer potatoes which were very flavorful. We also shared a Spinach salad which was very good.

Our service throughout the meal was very attentive and we enjoyed chatting with the server who also worked at Demetra's Cafe where we had lunch earlier that day. The ambiance is elegant with white linen tablecloths. All of the desserts sounded very good but we decided to go to the Grill on Ocean for dessert after dinner. I would recommend Christopher's on LIncoln to anyone looking for a fine dining meal in the Carmel area. The prices were very reasonable, also.
