“One of wife's favorite places”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

We went on a two week tour of the region between San Francisco and Carmel. Beautiful boutique hotel perched on a cliff above the Pacific Ocean. Views are incredible and yet close to the iconic Carmel so you can spend time both in Carmel and overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

We are very lucky with our location in such that we are close to all that the area offers, but yet it all feels so far away. We look forward to your next visit.

We stayed here for 1 night on our honeymoon roadtrip through California. What can I say, this place is perfect. The location is stunning, perched on the cliffs in Carmel Highlands with amazing views out to sea. The rooms are beautiful, we had a large room with a big private deck area and a huge whirlpool bath with stunning sea views.
The service was brilliant, we were treated to complimentary fizz and chocolates as a congratulations present from the hotel. They are very helpful too and organised in-room masseuse for us which is highly recommended.
At this hotel all the details have been taken care of; the evening wine and cheese reception is done beautifully – lovely food and wine. Breakfast is simple but lovely and we had ours bought to our room for no extra cost. You can borrow dvds, binoculars for spotting sealife. We didn’t want to leave our room so had room service which comes from the hotel next door, the food was great and highly recommended. We loved this hotel and only wish we were there for more than 1 night, for relaxation and romance it’s THE place to go.

Setting and views unmatched. Have stayed at Highlands Inn but TP is every bit as good and more personal.
Have stayed numerous times at Post Ranch Inn. This trip we have a 6 AM flight out of MRY and didn't want to be so far out.
Staff is service oriented. The breakfast that is included is good not great.
One complaint I had and seems minor but fireplace fueled with Duraflame logs and not wood. At the tariffs they charge I think merits true wood.

I am glad that your overall impression was a positive one. Although most our fireplace rooms and suites do have the option between Duraflame and firewood (available free of charge), some of our rooms are indeed Duralame only. Please feel free to contact me directly for any future stays so that we may can find you the perfect room. We are looking forward to your next visit.

Tucked away into the ruggedly beautiful Carmel coastline is this small gem of an Inn. We stayed in the Senators cottage which offers two bedrooms, living room, bath and a private terrace with wonderful views. It was unseasonably hot during this time and there was not any air-conditioning that was the only drawback. The driveway can be steep depending on the size of your vehicle. The breakfast and wine & cheese were both wonderful. The outdoor jacquzzi was fantastic. This was our second stay and the staff go out of their way to help and make your stay a memorable one.

Loved the comfortable rooms, the views, the wine and cheese, and the delicious breakfast. We hope to return and highly recommend this hotel. Don't miss Point Lobos for amazing hikes and beautiful sights.

Point Lobos, as well as driving down the coast to Big Sur are very popular excursions for guests staying at the Inn. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to take in the sights.

A lovely hotel with a fantastic view of the water. The grounds were nicely landscaped. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfy bed! The breakfast was tasty with changes to the menu every day. We also liked the complimentary wine and cheese on the terrace every evening. This Inn was the start of a nine day trip down the coast of California and was a wonderful way to kick off a vacation!!

This hotel was an option given by our agent Bon Voyage Travel & Tours who arranged a bespoke road trip for us from San Francisco to Las Vegas
We checked with Trip Advisor and after reading only the bad comments, (some people are either looking for faults or just mean spirited), we told the agent to go ahead
During the trip we stayed at some very large & expensive hotels.
We eventually found the Tickled Pink after a tortuous road led by a Sat Nav. We should have rung first as there was a far easier way, apparently all Sat Nav send people the same way . so first tip gave them a call .
We were greeted with the news that our room was not ready , it was 2.30pm
So they offered us freshly baked cookies and invited us to the terrace where we were served complementary wine.
At 3.00pm the room was ready ( the correct check in time) and we were taken to our room up stairs, no lift, we were told there was no restaurant, but they could book a table for us at a nearby one. We also found out that there was no air con.
The above might seem a review which is about to give a bad report.
On the contrary this was an excellent hotel , the room was great , complete with a balcony overlook the ocean , the staff were friendly the breakfast were excellent if you are European but having had some breakfasts in America might not suit the Americans requirement for volume.
The booked us a table at the nearby restaurant and even provided transport.
In the afternoon the have a cheese & wine get together, not normally our thing, but we joined in and it was great fun, good atmosphere, and great views we have only been back from our trip to America for 6 days and I have already recommended the hotel to two people planning a trip along with two others whilst we were away
A great stay
