“Charming, Peaceful and a Stunning Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Mission Ranch has a wonderful location near the Carmel River Beach with sweeping views over a meadow studded with sheep toward Point Lobos and the Pacific Ocean. We stayed in one of the triplex buildings on the top floor. The room was both peaceful and charming. The view from the deck was the highlight of our stay. Central Carmel is within easy walking distance. The walk itself is a joy.The weather was warm enough to sit on the terrace for dinner at the Mission Ranch Restaurant. Once again, we enjoyed the spectacular view and were pleased with the quality of the service. We are eager to return to this historic and truly beautiful place.

Room Tip: The rooms in the Meadow View Triplexes and the Meadow View Fourplex have stunning views.

Ocean views, A unique setting, well appointed very comfortable rooms, historic buildings, tennis courts and THE SHEEP. We have been twice in hopes of my wife seeing her hero - Clint - and the last time got lucky. |However she could have seen him in the restaurant again the second night of our stay but the fun of a glass of wine, watching the sheep return to the barn for the night while the sun was setting was a bigger draw.

Room Tip: Get a room by the barn, best view of the sunsets and of course, the sheep.

What a beautiful, enchanted place. The views of the ocean and the pasture where the sheep roam, and the Farm House, how quaint. The restaurant, was good food, very busy and loud, but it was during the AT&T PGA tournament. The staff were so kind and accommodating. EVERYTHING about this place makes me ache to return!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Farm House room 35, while there was only an ocean view from the bathroom, it was st...

Lovely setting and historic bulidings marred by inattention to detail and extraordinarily poor maintenance. No bell service, restaurant charges to room not allowed, leaking toilet, limited hot water, dated uncomfortable furnishing, cheap linens,non-existent art work, tiny TV and general inattention to detail at this hostoric property.Would never return unless appropriate attention to detail and renovation takes place.VERY tired property.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to suffer the same problem--dated and tired

we spent a weekend at the honeymoon cottage and can't wait to return. the staff was lovely and the rooms were comfortable. the continental breakfast was a perc and included yoghurt and fresh fruit along with the usual cereal and juice. the only thing I would change would be the coffemaker in the room - time to upgrade!

Nice place. We stayed in the main house bootom floor room on the right as you go in.Very clean, comfortable with a nice lounge area outside our room. Excellent restaraunt. Lots of sheep and critters in the fields. Unmatched scenery. You can see Pebble beach from there.

I understand it is owned by Clint Eastwood. He apparently bought the property to save it from commercial development, and kept all the original buildings Converted the buildings (farmhouse, barn, etc.) to suites. We stayed in the Meadowview Triplex. Very quaint quiet and picturesque. Our room was large and comfortable, well appointed. A bit on the high side for price, but worth it for a treat. Excellent restaurant.

We will be back
