Even thought French toile is NOT our preferred style, our charming room at the Coachman's Inn was something different and we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. The mattress was pillow-soft; again not usual for us, but it was surprisingly comfortable and it might make me re-think the softness factor when it is time for us to get a new one at home. With the fireplace on, the room was cozy. The welcome to the Inn was most cordial, we enjoyed ordering breakfast and having it delivered -- the muffins were a high point, and at the evening reception it was pleasant to visit and chat with other guests while having a glass of wine and some cheese. We also took advantage of the later-in the-evening cookies and a small glass of sherry sedative! This Inn is convenient to shopping, the scenic walk, the mission, and to good restaurants. The Inn has partnerships with many of the restaurants where guests can take advantage of a discount. I would recommend this lovely little spot in beautiful Carmel by the Sea.
