Excellent accomodations, extremely helpful staff and a peaceful quiet place to unwind. Great location one block from the sea and the sound of the incoming surf is so relaxing. Room, mattress, breakfast, furniture, pictures, music cannot be faulted. Outside landscaping is delightful with many birds. Parking is a little bit limited.

I have been to Carmel many times and for the last 5 years or so I have come back to the Sandpiper Inn. The staff is friendly and helpful. Although it is a B&B, this is a place for those who say they wouldn't stay at a B&B and all of us who do. You can come and go as you please in a quaint, peaceful atmosphere. If you are on vacation to relax, people leave you alone, or you can strike up a conversation at breakfast or out on the patio. The ocean is just 1 1/2 blocks away. You can open your window and hear it all night. Plus its great for a daily walk. I'll keep coming back.

Great location next to the beach, and wonderful breakfast. The inn is tucked in a nice neighborhood. The whole place was very pretty and well kept. We stayed in room 2, which had two drawbacks: we could hear people walking in the room above, and the shower was old and sometimes hard to get to the right temperature. Not sure if the other rooms are like this, but it barely effected our stay. Would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed at the Sandpiper Inn at the end of September. The weather was dreary and overcast, but we had a nice, clean place to stay. The living room has a fireplace and tea and cookies are served each night at 5:00. Breakfast was perfect-quiches, local fruit, cereal, yogurt and coffee. We stayed in room 7, which was small but considered ocean view, which is why I chose it. You can hear the crashing waves from this room. I would elect for the king room next time so we had more space. This is located in a rural neighborhood, but we took a nice 15 minute walk with a flashlight to the town. We enjoyed using the fire pit outside and drinking wine. It was nice to be in a more secluded, quiet part of Carmel. Maria was a wonderful innkeeper, and we would stay here for our next visit.
