What a find! Happy Landing Inn is just a few blocks from the beach and a block or so
from "downtown" Carmel, so it is on the edge of the residential area and it is quiet and convenient to all that is Carmel. The inn is quintessential Carmel Fairy Tale - cottages with
gabled roofs surrounding a lovely courtyard. The innkeeper Dawn obviously takes pride in keeping the historical qualities of the place but making sure there are modern comforts. My husband and I stayed in one of the two room suites and we loved it, so did our dog. I love quaint, older inns but am particular about cleanliness and about odors - specifically, I don't want to smell anything. I was so happy that not only was the place spotless and kept up with new carpets etc but that there were no musty odors. The inn is filled with lovely period antiques that complete the ambience. Dawn was gracious and more than happy to give us (great!) recommendations for dinner and happy hour. During the night it was quiet but for the distant sound of the ocean. Really perfect and I can't wait to go back.
