“If you only do one decent walk.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

...near Carmel, make sure it is here. Totally stunning scenery and wildlife. We arrived just after breakfast and spent a wonderful half day exploring the fascinating trails. This is the best value 10 dollars you can spend. Just sorry we haven't visited before - we certainly hope to come back and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere and environment.

“Saw orcas and heard sea lions!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Take the afternoon to walk around the many pathways along the coast in Point Lobos State Reserve. I could have spent hours here just meandering all the trails and taking photos. Photographers will find this area particularly appealing as there are so many different landscapes area to see -- they are all just so dramatically different. It's $10 to enter the park in a car, but I also saw people entering by foot who didn't seem to have to pay.

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

A lost paradise. Crashing waves and the Big Sur type coast line except you can walk and hike to your heart's content. Seals at one point. Frequent whale sightings at others (although we didn't see any). Lots of birds. Beautiful plants and stunning trees with that atmospheric cobwebby hangings (like cottonwool cobwebbs for halloweed).

We also chanced upon a very friendly volunteer who had his telescope set up so we could view otters and seals much better.

Highly recommend a trip to Point Lobos.

“Go! Put this on your list!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Even if you're not all that outdoorsy...this is a must go place. The views are AMAZING. We actually went back twice (even paying the $10 entry fee) to get more pictures of the waves crashing. We got to also see seals and otters. We mainly stuck to the easy paths. We also packed a lunch and ate at one of the many picnic tables they have.

This is a great place; you'll get amazing pictures which I think highlight best what this area is all about.

“This was my favorite outdoor sight.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

This is the place for a WOW view everywhere you look! Get out of the car and start walking. Crashing waves, blue water, sea lions, sea otter, bent cypress trees, sea breezes, rocky shoreline......SO BEAUTIFUL!! I would go back to the Monterey area just for this park.
