Description: Enjoy wonderfully authentic food and ambiance in the main dining room, casual bar, or the warm inviting patio. Leone D’Arcangelo and his family look forward to welcoming you to the restaurant. Fresco is one block from the sparkling blue Pacific and very similar to the village of Sperlonga where Leone was born. The romance of Italy is here in beautiful downtown Carlsbad. Visit Leone and his staff for lunch, dinner or perhaps a drink after work.

“Nice fare, reasonable price, generous portions”

Food was great and in abundance, server was very nice and atmosphere was good. 2 of us has a huge antipasto, entrees and wine for under $75.00.

“Understaffed for a Wednesday night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Food was good but it is hard to screw up Pasta. Restaurant was busy with many families, probably due to being across the street from the Carlsbad Inn. My gripe is with the speed of service. We were seated by a server (no hostess) and then we sat for 10 minutes before anyone came by to talk to us. We were on the verge of leaving, when a server finally approached us. We ordered drinks and then proceeded to wait again. We had to hail down busboy for any bread. It came with no butter or oil. Yes, this place probably gets lots of tourists like myself, but we do have a voice and better service would get better comments.

“Just okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

The atmosphere of the restaurant is charming. We got there, with a reservation, at 7:00. The place was practically empty. They seated us and less than 5 minutes later seated a party of 4 adults and 7 children immediately next to us. There were so many other tables they could have put us rather than right next to this family.

The food was fine. I ordered a small Caesar salad which was nothing special and a good pasta dish. The pastas came in two sizes. The waiter indicated that the small plate was a child's plate though the menu didn't say that. I couldn't even eat half of my pasta. That was a little disappointing. As we were traveling, I couldn't take the leftovers.
The service was also just okay.

“Absolutely wonderful food, ambiance and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

We love going to Fresco for lunch and for dinner. The food and wines are delicious. They bring the food out in a timely manner and they always have a smile for us. I love that it's family owned and the recipes are just like I'd expect from an Italian family in Italy. Thanks to all of you for serving us so well.
