“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

We booked a stay at another hotel this time because the Sheraton wasn't available for the entirety of our vacation. Long story short, we ended up leaving that other hotel and moving to the Sheraton for our remaining night in Carlsbad. The quality of this hotel is so far superior to where we were it is difficult to compare but the other hotel was a Marriott so that says it all! The rooms are quiet, clean and extremely comfortable. The beds are divine and the air conditioners, silent. The pool is open 24/7 (but we never heard any noise from that area), the jacuzzi is huge and steamy and there are out door games and activities for the kids as well as a day spa for Mom! We ate at the wonderful restaurant which is attached to the hotel and even had our breakfast delivered poolside the next morning so we could get a little extra swim and sun time in before we checked out at noon. If the hotel had been able to accommodate us, we would have stayed an additional night, believe me! We will never book anywhere else again when staying in Carlsbad! Thanks again for a lovely experience.

Room Tip: We asked for a room on the ocean view side, it's not really an ocean view per say but you can se...

The facility was in top shape. Reception, the rooms and the pool area. Every area of the hotel was appealing. Staff was terrific, the guys at the valet and luggage, Patrick and the other bartenders kept the bar lively while getting their work done. William and the reception staff were friendly as was housekeeping. I had trouble getting a fax to my office and William was calm and patient. The business center has computers and a printer.

Great access to Legoland.

My only concern was the food. It was so close to being good that I am not sure why it wasn't. My steak was a little off and breakfast was just okay. It seems that they know this because they gave me a discount without me asking.

Room Tip: Had four people in our party and they provided towels and accessorys for only 2. I did put in for 4...

This is a resort. Anyone familiar with Southern California is familiar with the "resort." Yep, it's a hotel that can charge you an extra $20 a day just because they feel like it. And for that, you'll get free local calls. The Sheraton does that, too, but it's $12, and you get free wi-fi.

The room was big, clean, and comfortable. The kids loved it. We spent four nights there and had no complaints. When the toilet backed up at 11pm on a Sunday night, we called the front desk and someone was at our door within 15 minutes.

The staff took the time to walk me through a very confusing booking.com reservation, and were responsive to everything we needed.

The private Legoland entrance is not as close as others make it sound, but you'll never wait in line behind more than about two people to get into the park. We enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Not a bad room in the hotel, as far as I can tell.

Thank you for choosing the Sheraton Carlsbad as you place to spend your vacation. I am glad to hear that the kids loved the hotel. I hope you got to catch a movie at one of the pools on property. We hope to see you next summer.

Next to Legoland, close to golf courses and a number of businesses. . . Perfect! However, beware when on a mid-floor room (2nd floor). It takes 15 mins for the AC to really get going. Came back from a Legoland day to an 80 degree room. It took engineering to come up to get it going. After 45 mins it finally got to a comfortable temp the freezing ther rest of the night. But great staff and excellent service!

Our family spent 5 nights as part of soccer team here for a tournament. The hotel is lovely - bright airy lobby and well-appointed rooms. The pool area is particularly beautiful and enjoyable. Location is great right near Costco, outlet mall, the beach, and Carlsbad villiage.

When we arrived, the hotel was overbooked and we were given a disabled room in building 2 - avoid this if you are travelling with children... they don't know how to keep the floor dry without the bathtub! The front desk staff was very helpful and moved us the following day as soon as a more appropriate room became available. Best spot for a family using the pool - main floor building 1.

Housekeeping staff is some of the best I've ever encountered. We were constantly rushing around and didn't have much time to tidy, but the staff managed to make the room look great each day. At one point there was a knock on the door and it was one of the cleaners - just wondering if I needed anything! Service at the pool wasn't as good - they are friendly and helpful but take a very long time to bring food. Also not sure why they automatically charge 20% gratuity to walk from the restaurant to the pool with a tray - standard is 15%, and that is for really good service. One evening we ordered from the restaurant menu to pool, so a bit pricier - the food came in plastic containers - not very classy. Strange though, they serve the "pool food" like burgers and fries on plates.

Overall great experience. Would definately go again and recommend to others.

Room Tip: Building 1 main floor if you have children - otherwise you are far from room to run and grab the thi...

We held our annual summer meeting at this resort. We have to been to many great resorts but the staff at the Sheraton Carlsbad was outstanding! From the time we arrived we were greeted with smiling valets, front desk staff, Joey in the bar, the GM, the chef, the maid service, they all made us feel welcome and at home. Joey was kind enough to serve us drinks and food outside by the firepit. They also provide a shuttIe service that will take you anywhere in a 5 mile radius of the resort.
