“The Best Way To Start A Honeymoon!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2009

My new wife and I stayed here the first three night of our honeymoon before heading to Kauai. We have never been treated better in our lives. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It was very beautiful and the suite was amazing! We had such a great time. A little pricey but worth it. We definitely see ourselves coming back for an anniversary or special occasion. They made us feel extremely valued! This is the best place to start a honeymoon!!

This was a return visit after attending a business conference here in July. We came for an after Thanksgiving getaway. EVERYTHING about the stay was FABULOUS. Our whole family did a spa day including lunch in our terrycloth robes at The Spa Cafe. Had a great dinner at The Blue Fire Restaurant. We watched the grounds and Lobby get transformed into Holiday mode as the decorations were put up. We ended our stay with a morning in the fitness center and late breakfast. The staff could not have been more accommodating and attentive! We will definitely be beck! The room was superb!

This is a beautiful resort north of San Diego, just south of Camp Pendleton. It's on a beautiful golf course and has wonderful tennis facilities (we were attending a weekend tennis camp). The resort is quite big, and honestly seems empty - with few guests and few staff around. If you are a guest, you have to pay to use the tennis courts! However, if you play after 5pm, you can probably get away with just hopping off the court when the tennis shop folks leave for the day.

The rooms were nice and spacious with nicely appointed bathroom amenities.

Kids love the many swimming pools and 2 water slides. The health club is fine - medium large with a lot of machines.

Not Ritz-Carlton, 4 Seasons luxurious, but definitely better than any other chain hotel.

This hotel is not on the beach - a short car ride away.

I spent a week in La Costa resort while attending a Chopra Centre event. The staff are extremely friendly, can't do enough to help you, and appear sincere. The grounds are maintained to an impeccable standard; beautiful flowers and water features are in abundance. I didn’t get to make full use of the facilities due to my limited time but it appears La Costa has a broad appeal. There were families there for what looked like a great child friendly pool and Kidzone but it was located so it didn’t disrupt anyone not on a family break. There were groups of golfers in for a weekend golf trip, couples on a spa break etc. The restaurants are good too, although I’d limited time there and at the weekend there was live jazz which added atmosphere to another wise very quiet resort. My room was well located, very comfortable and well equipped and although I noticed a bit of a pool type smell in the beginning; it wasn’t strong enough to make me want to change room. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom large and pleasant. I think La Costa would be great for anyone with young kids who wants to get to play golf or go for spa treatments as there is a kids club, but I think teens may be a little bored. I’d definitely stay again when attending my next Chopra Centre event (BTW – the Chopra Centre massage is excellent!) but I’d recommend hiring a car if staying for more than a couple of days. If you’re into shopping, Carlsbad premium outlets are only a ten minute drive away – but it costs nearly $30 to get there by taxi!

Having just returned from La Costa Resort and Spa, it reminds me why we return year after year (10 years and counting). We love the casual elegance and the beautifully manicured grounds, We cannot say enough about the friendly and accommodating staff and the contstant upgrades from the Blue Fire Grill, Legends, the Marketplace and the Spa. We are tennis players and spend most of our days playing tennis on the courts; the clay and hard courts are the best around. We stayed in the 800 room series in a 1 bedroom suite. It was devine! Oh, did I mention in the afternoon in the Plaza area a waiter walks around and tray passes complimentary champagne. . . need more be said?

When my wife and arrived at La Costa, we were warmly greeted by the valet parking attendant and the receptionist. Our room was upgraded and some delicious chocolate covered strawberries awaited us in our room after we went for a stroll in the beautifully manicured grounds and browsed in the shops at the resort. Our secluded suite, which overlooked the golf course, was great and had all the amenities. Our dinner at the Blue Fire Grille was superb and the ambiance by the fireplace was perfect. Our visit to La Costa's world class spa was exactly what we needed to relax and rejuvenate. We had a wonderful time and look forward to our next visit to La Costa!
