Pros:
-Fantastic golf courses and staff. Worth the expense
- Very friendly and helpful front desk. Marclyn Ramirez is a GEM!!!!!
- Grounds are beautiful

Huge Con:
- The Spa ambiance was awful! My massage and manicure were ok. But the spa waiting and post-massage resting lounges, sauna, jacuzzi and showers are noisy and far from tranquil and relaxing!
The staff told me it is always that way but they can't seem to solve the problem.

Suggestion:
Make the Ladies Spa entrance peaceful. Right know it is unorganized and sloppy looking. As you know, first impressions set the pace.

Sorry guys but The Spa ruin our stay.

I attended on a 3 days conference here. Omni Spa is a different world. You feel like a guest. :-) Beside the bed what was the most important while you were resting the golf course and the food were also great. Children also enjoyed the pool too. If you are in San Diego and looking on this rate you should choose this place. Only 25 min from downtown.

a Classic old style resort in a gorgeous setting. Charming buildings, very nicely appointed rooms and great service. The spa is well worth a visit with expected treatments but make sure you try the Ayurvedic massage options provided through the Chopra Centre on site. Amazing! Chopra Centre also offers daily yoga classes and meditation. La Costa has a great gym with good choice of equipment and classes - loved the spin class.

You cannot get a better location, better value, better experience. They have everything right: every person you deal with from the valet, to the front desk, to the spa, to the restaurant, everything is spot on. The food is fantastic, the chef is engaging and interesting. They have a bee farm, and get food from the farmers market which only further enhances the experience. Go to La Costa!

La Costa is beautiful, quiet and a very nice place to relax. Didn't golf there, but the spa/massage experience is wonderful. The hotel and spa are not inexpensive (at least on a middle-class budget), but are very high quality. This is mostly a place for the well-to-do, but if you can get a good discount off the list price (perhaps for a convention) it's worth a splurge for a restful getaway.

My girlfriend and I recently took a two week vacation around California. After a week of travel, we planned to take a few days off to find somewhere nice to just lounge and relax.

We wanted to be close to San Diego, but away from the busy downtown and tourist heavy beach areas. We found a steal of a deal for this place on Hotwire Express Deals. Four nights for only $155 per night, plus resort and parking fees.

After a crazy drive down the freeway from L.A, we arrived here late in the evening to find what felt like a sprawling secluded resort. The place was enormous! The grounds and the property were breathtakingly beautiful and well manicured. The architecture itself was a charming Spanish style.

I lost count of how many pools there were at five? We really enjoyed the adult pool area overlooking the resort golf course and the hills. The family pool area was also very nice and had a bar, too. Although, we didn't really spend much time here other than to briefly become 13 again and take a few rides down the waterslide!

There were loads of activities to take part in daily. Both aimed at adults and children. We don't have kids, but it seems like for those that do, this is the place to go! They even have a club for kids! We saw a lot of families and the kids were all having a blast! There are magic shows, bird shows, s'more night, and outdoor movie nights.

For the room, we had one of the basic Standard King Bed rooms. We were in Bldg 2100 on the second floor. No doubt since we booked Hotwire Express that we probably got their lowest end room? It was O.k., though. Could have been a bit nicer for the star rating I thought? I will also mention I'm not usually one to complain about weird smells in a hotel room, but there was a very peculiar odor that hung in our room the whole time. Almost like the room had been shut up for months and the air had gone stale, or maybe the AC vents hadn't been cleaned?

We were also confused there was an empty working refrigerator in our room with a label attached saying "Not meant for use as a Refrigerator" You really expect to have a fridge in your room at a high-end resort! A microwave would have been great too!

Unfortunately they did not have any vacant rooms with patio, but we enjoyed the nice private courtyard with hammocks at our building. You could go wake up in the hammock in the morning, or go take a 24 hour dip in the hot tub without it being locked at 11pm, as is the case at a lot of hotels. That was great after coming back late after the day out! We hate it when we come back late to find the pool/hot tub closed!

There was a wide range of dinning options from budget to high-end a short drive away to Carlsbad Village or Encinitas. San Diego was also a quick 20 minutes drive south, but we felt as though we were far from the city.

My only major complaint with our stay was the upkeep and housekeeping in the corridors of our building. Upon arriving and going to our room we were were taken back by the old, weathered, stained, and filthy puke orange colored carpeting of the hallways! They were right out of a high traffic budget hotel! On top of the conditions of the carpet, there were pieces of paper, plastic, gum wrappers, numerous other junk on the carpets that we're never vacuumed our whole stay! I threw out some trash in the hallway waste can the first day, including half eaten seafood and the trash wasn't emptied until three days later! We took a walk through some of the buildings with the higher end rooms and conditions of the corridors and carpets were far superior than where the cheaper rooms were. Room doors weren't scuffed, dinged, or chipped. It gave us a bad first impression and could easily be remedied with the money this place brings in!

Won't complain about the marked up prices of anything you buy or eat here because that comes with higher end hotels and if it's too much than perhaps you should stay at Motel 6 or Holiday Inn? However, I will say I'm displeased in 2015 when hotels still nickel and dime for WiFi! Especially when I'm already paying a resort fee and parking! There's no need for it other than to gouge guests.

Overall, we had a great stay and didn't want to leave for Palm Springs! I would highly recommend for couples and families! Hope to stay again one day!

This is without a doubt one of the finest resorts I have experienced. I primarily come to La costa for business, but when in the area for pleasure would not stay anyplace else. Nice restaurants, superior cuisine, good nature experiences nearby, Very classy, elegant and relaxing.
