La Costa has a legendary reputation. It was great to be given an excuse to stay there (friend's birthday event). We loved the beautiful buildings, spacious grounds and our lovely room. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. Restaurant food (typical for a hotel) seemed a bit overpriced, but the service was good. My main complaint is the pool situation. I want to swim laps and get some exercise without having to dodge kids, floating toys and adult drinkers. La Costa markets itself as a spa and wellness resort. Where is the adult lap pool?
