“Great for parents and children!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

La Costa is a beautiful property that offers all you could want in a resort. Adult pool, children's pool, golf, spa, near area amenities like Legoland -- what more can you ask for. In addition add in the near perfect SoCal weather an you have the ideal family vacation.

Recently stayed at La Costa for a Winter Promo. They were very accommodating on an early arrival Blue Fire Grill Risotto (adjusted for Vegan) was very good. Lamb Barbaquo very salty and greasy sides Golf course still struggling to get up to pristine condition (Legends) Staff helpful, Valet good, Bell persons exceptionally speedy. SPA was adequate had massage they walk you through dimly lit pool area to reach the treatment area then a short walk back to SPA area.

I was just at the La Costa resort to speak at a business meeting. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff, and the layout of the resort. My room 106 was in a building near to the arrival area and the main lobby building. There is a nice central plaza for people to sit outside and people watch, as other guests come and go into the various boutiques off to one side or the other. A marketplace with gifts and a coffee shop has a bar with iPads for checking in and printing out airport boarding passes. A dinner outside around pools showcased the location at its finest.

The room, while a bit on the small side, was well appointed and attractive, and had a nice french door out to a patio with a view of a hot tub close by, surrounded by wrought iron fencing and lots of colorful flowers. I used the very large fitness facility, where there was every weight machine and cardio options galore. The ambience of the whole place is just very pleasant. I smile when I think about it. And the food was good, though room service was a little slow in the morning, taking over an hour and a half from my call to delivery, and the eggs and sausage arrived room temperature. But the sausage seemed hand made and was amazing, even without heat.

All in all, a wonderful visit. I recommend this as a place to unwind. And their spa is legendary.

Room Tip: I liked the 100s building for its convenience.

Overall I was not satisfied with the quality verses the price of my stay at La Costa Resort including the golf. I would not recommend the property to any of my friends as the price did not meet the expectations of my visit. I must say that I was disappointed with my experience with La Costa Resort and will not return. Thank you.

This resort complex has beautiful and well-maintained grounds. It is sprawling, so if your room isn't in proximity to the lobby or self-parking, for instance, you can have a walk.
The rooms are spacious and well maintained and appointed. Bed and provided pillows were comfortable. Bathroom was large and clean. They provide an in-room coffee maker, which is nice. The food here is ok, and very expensive, as is the little market adjacent to the lobby. Room service is likewise very pricey.

Spent time after XMAS at LaCosta in Carlsbad with the family (wife + 2 kids). Great resort and super helpful and accommodating staff. Nice room, perfect grounds, immaculate golf, very good food and gift shop, nice pools and 1st class tennis facilities, including clay courts. Restaurant on site was solid - good food + nice wine list + great waiter. Valet parking team, housekeeping and concierge services were absolutely first class. Package included daily breakfast, golf, spa credits. Even though we did not use the credits every day, it was still a good value considering the reasonable cost of the package. Will definitely go back again. Only issue was that their onsite kid's game room was poorly maintained with many of the games broken/not working, but that is pretty minor in my book as we only went their once over a 5 day trip.

Room Tip: Get a room that faces the many landscaped regions or the golf course. Close/walking distance to the...

Stayed at La Costa for a conference. Hotel service was good, well-maintained grounds. Food was exceptional and fair-priced in most outlets. Spa looked lovely but rates were very overpriced. Enjoyed Chopra Center and close location to beach and towns in the area. Will go back!
