“Perfect place to Unwind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Just returned from the La Costa after a conference.. stayed there for 6 nights and it was fantastic! It was just the right blend of luxury, friendliness, comfort & peace. Although I was too busy attending my seminars to completely enjoy the resort's facilities, I have enjoyed the Legends Bistro, the BlueFire Grill & even the daily nibbles and merchandise from the Marketplace.

The staff were very courteous & helpful. The food was great. The architecture & property was beautiful! And I found the toiletries gorgeously delectable!

I must say the walls are thin because I could hear a neighbour cough through the night (till he fell asleep - or maybe till I fell asleep), but apart from that, it was quiet, peaceful & uneventful!

“Enjoyed my stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

I was at La Costa for a course at the Chopra Center which is on the grounds. Most of my time was at the course so I did not partake of the golf course and many other things that are availble, like the spa. I did like that I could walk around the area and be back in my room without driving. There is no refrigerator in the room, so if you are buying food off grounds you have to consider that. The Marketplace is a good place for quick meals. I had breakfast there and a salad at dinner. There are eight pools, but I only got to the hot tub. It was clean, nice and warm. Towels were always available at the hot tub. I liked that they had terry robes in the room to wear down and back up as evenings/early mornings can be quite cool. All people that I encountered connected with La Costa were friendly and helpful. There is a grocery store (Albertsons) a short walk away. Also in the shopping complex is a breakfast/lunch place and a Thai restaurant. The prices were more reasonable than the onsite restaurant. Ask the concierge for some walks in a natural area. I enjoyed one that went to Jimbo's (a natural health food store that I highly recommend for eating and shopping) and the shopping area that is by it. It is only a bit over a mile away and a nice walk off the busy roads. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Room Tip: Mine overlooked the hot tub on the third floor. It was near the resort center and I was happy with...

Hi Travelingtrue,

We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit here with us. We always love having Chopra guests with us. We are curious about the room you were in, as all guestrooms should have mini refrigerators. We will look into this either way.

We're glad to hear our concierge team and staff were helpful and that you were able to enjoy activities both on and off-property. We hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience with us.

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Coming from Chicago in March, this was a slice of heaven! The atmosphere was peaceful and inspiring, the food delicious, the service generally was excellent. I was at a conference and the staff dealt beautifully with the many participants. The only small complaint was the apparent thinness of the walls. Conversations could be heard and it seem to be noisy in the hallway, at times, especially in the mornings. Still, I will most likely be back.

Hi Kaylyn,

We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us during the conference. We are very lucky to enjoy San Diego weather daily and glad you were able to escape the chilly Chicago weather. We look forward to sharing your kind words about dining with our team.

We also apologize for the noise in the AM. Sometimes guests are able to hear one another through the walls, and we appreciate you letting us know.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon, hopefully for a leisure visit. :-)

“Relaxing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

This is a great place to relax and unwind (even if you're attending a conference here). The grounds, rooms and facilities all contribute to the sence of tranquility and relaxing atmosphere. I plan to return with my wife.

Room Tip: If you can get it and you're staying there for more than a couple nights, I recommend a first fl...

“So Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Having read mixed reviews, we were truly pleased and impressed with La Costa. Our room was compact but beautifully appointed with top of the line furnishings, linen and amenities.
We had a view out over one of the golf courses. The bathroom was huge with a separate toilet and shower area. As some others have mentioned, the shower is glassed in and on view from the main part of the bathroom, which we felt added to the romance.
We did find the ceramic tile floor in the bathroom cold on the feet, but that was a small issue.
The room had a raised king bed, spacious night tables, three-light table lamps as well as individual reading lights, a big desk with desk chair on each side and excellent cell and computer charging station.
We were easily able to adjust the room temperature to our preference.
WiFi was included and speed and connection was excellent. Even the pool areas had WiFi coverage. Everything was spotless and we were greeted in a friendly manner by everyone, reception staff, maids, gardeners, pool and gym staff and valets.
The grounds are beautiful and there were at least 7 pools and very many jacuzzis.
Some guests have complained about long walks from room to lobby but we found the layout to be very nice with really pleasant, well marked walks and many map stations.
The weather was on the chilly side but the hotel provided big fluffy robes which kept us warm from room to pools. In addition I was able to find the garden pool which was sheltered from the breezes and thus was warm enough to enjoy.
The new all adult edge pool was beautiful with 4 jacuzzis and stunning views.
We didn't use the spa but friends who did pronounced it excellent if somewhat pricey.
As for restaurants, we were on a conference so the meals were large catered group meals. Overall these were really good.
We had breakfast in the hotel the last morning and did find that to be a bit uninspiring and very expensive.

Room Tip: We loved our room which faced a quiet side of hotel. I am certain that if you don't like your ro...
