It was coooold in Jan in San Diego, did not expect that.

This is a nice resort that I visited and stayed 2 nights at. The layout, appointments and facilities are excellent. It is supposed to be a world class spa, but I was at a conference and could not avail of it.

However, I would not go there to relax if I can hear road noises from my room and can see an strip mall shopping center from my room. It may be my luck of the draw but knowing me I could get this area of rooms again.

BTW, the Chopra Center (Deepak Chopra) is located in this resort. Also, looks like a good golf course ( again could not avail).

I stayed at the resort during the summer, the room was clean and my son loved the waterslide. The resort is wonderful and the kid's game room was great fun. But the food was horrible. The Blue Fire Grill didn't have anything on the menu for 10 year old so we went to Legends. It was the worst dinning experience I ever had. The children's buffet was some over heated chicken strips and ranch dressing that was sitting out on a table and wasn't iced. My meal was both burnt and cold.

For years, we had heard of this resort so we went recently to celebrate a birthday. The weather was quite cold so a lot of the beautiful swimming and spa areas were lost on us. The addition of an adults pool and spa area overlooking the golf course was very lovely. We thought that the staff was friendly and nice. The rooms were ok but quite spread out. With outdoor hallways, the walk from room to lobby was quite cold. Parking is not close to rooms so this was also a trek if you needed something from the car. Overall, I would say that it was a good, not great resort. We would go many places before this resort for overall value.

We came here for a family vacation with grandparents, parents and young kids. The rooms were great, a little bit of a walk to the main areas, but that was fine with us. The spa and golf were amazing, the Kids Club was fun for one day for the kids. The location in Carlsbad is great, close to a ton of things to do around the area. The only downside was the food. Not enough choice, not healthy enough and overall not so good.
