Lunch for 4 on a mid-week afternoon proved to be the start of a tradition for us visiting Carlsbad with our friends. Very good margaritas, excellent food with a wide selection, a friendly staff in a convivial atmosphere are all the makings of a great place to come together. Truly a good experience!

great margaritas, perfect for dinner when staying at the inn, take the kids outside while waiting for your food
The place was packed on a Saturday night, and I just cannot believe that a Mexican place serving food this bland can survive in Southern California. This is a Mexican restaurant for people who don't like Mexican food. The margaritas are from a mix and way too sweet. The food is flavorless and tastes like a salt lick. The service was disinterested at best. You can do much better.

We've dined here often when we visit Carlsbad to see our son and granddaughter. The food is good, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is jolly.
Norte is a large, bright & airy Mexican restaurant a half block off of Carlsbad's main Street. There is a large menu, food is tasty & well prepared, and service is excellent. Plates are huge - most of us couldn't finish. Prices are very reasonable. Free Parking is available underground next to Norte.
