I stayed one night here last September due to the convenience of meeting with an old classmate of mine in Newport Beach the following day. This is a brand new hotel. It is very clean, bright, and cheery! The front office staff was great and helpful! However, the room I stayed in was very small and warm, not very airy, and took a few hours to cool down even with the air conditioner going full blast. The bathroom had no tub, just a walk in shower. What I did not like was its proximity to the hotel next door was a stone's throw away. Not a very private location. Breakfast was decent.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn Carlsbad several times over the past few months. Always a great value for the price. Clean, comfortable and a more than decent breakfast buffet makes this a good choice for families or any traveler. Never had a problem at this inn, and I would recommend it highly. Only con is there are no other restaurants within walking distance, but the hotel itself is within minutes to the beach and shopping.

Stayed for 3 nights. Room was large and clean. Cleaning staff was a hit and miss. On one of the days, cleaning was very mediocre - towels and disposable cups were not refilled. Breakfast was great! The kitchen staff had something different prepared everyday and it tasted pretty good. Service was overall good. Internet connection was not stable and at times could not connect. Despite some others comments about thin walls, we didn't have any issues with noise at all. However, we did ask for a quite room on an upper level.

There's nothing to eat nearby, only within driving distance. Pretty close to Costco and the outlet mall.

I had an enjoyable stay here. Good breakfast and excellent service at the front desk - going above and beyond what's required. Good breakfast. Convenient location to businesses, shopping, and attractions. Good value.
