We recently stayed there for three nights during a trip to visit Legoland and the beach.

The location is very good. Legoland is just up the hill on Cannon drive. It's a short walk to the beach and close to the outlet mall as well.

We booked a suite with separate bedroom and two queen beds. It's one of the few properties in the area that offers true suites (separate bedroom). The unit we stayed in #310 (top floor) was spacious with an above average sized shower/tub/toilet room. It's nice to have a kitchen as well. We cooked two hot breakfasts and saved alot of money by buying a few groceries instead of eating out. The continental breakfast is standard and we supplemented out own hot breakfasts with food from the hotel. The pool is decent sized and nicely heated. While not noise free, I noted the windows in our room were actually two sets of windows which kept out the noise from the outside very well. I heard little to no noise from the other guest rooms.

Service was fine. We asked for a late checkout at 1:00pm and were granted it. We had no problems with the room. In addition to free wi-fi they also have a complementary business center where you can surf the internet if you didn't bring your laptop.

Overall, a nice place at a reasonable price. We've stayed a a number of places in the area (Holiday Inn, Hilton Garden Inn) and this was as nice a place as the other two. We like staying in suite hotels, so we'll be back.

My husband, seven year old son and I stayed here for 3 nights while going to Legoland. The room itself was clean and roomy. It was nice to have a refrigerator, microwave, sink and toaster. Convenient location near restaurants.

However, it was too noisy to sleep each night. We had the air conditioner/fan going all the time and we could still hear the people above us walking around, as well as the people to the side of us. (We were on the 1st floor) Our windows faced the train tracks and it was LOUD. We are even used to trains where we live, but we heard them about 5 times during the night and it was enough to wake you up each time.

The breakfast buffet was ok- no hot items and the same bagels, bananas/apples, sweet rolls/ cereal each AM. Nothing fancy.

We stayed for 5 nights. Had no problems. Clean rooms, public areas well kept. Breakfast in the morning had the basics and was continually replenished. We didn't have any problems with noise from the freeway. Could hear occasional trains, but it did not interfere with sleeping. Did not try to walk to the beach, but it did seem like it was a long walk. No views of the ocean from hotel. Only negative we experienced was one night we could smell cigarette smoke in our room from next door or outside.

Was slightly concerned after reading previous reviews. But we did not
have any issues with this place. Easy one block walk to beach, unless
you are physically handicapped or lazy. First thing to notice is the well-kept grounds, plenty of free parking. Lobby was very clean and nicely designed with clear signs to direct you.

Room was clean upon arrival. Only negative was a small refrigerator. The train noise was very minimal and ceased around 11pm. More noise was made by the kids in the pool. Close the window and it is not an issue. Go for a walk along the uncrowded beach or a drive along Carlsbad Blvd., plenty of restaurants. Quaint and lovely town, we are
already planning on returning to Carlsbad.

I booked our youth hockey team into this hotel for a President's Day tournament. We had a total of 12 rooms in our group. We had a very nice time. The rooms were very large, clean, and well appointed. The property is gorgeous and the location is very convenient for shopping, dining, the beach, and easy access to the freeway. We walked to the beach from the hotel. The girl at the front desk said it was a five minute walk, but we found it to be more like a 15 minute walk. She was younger then we are, so perhaps she could get there in five. ;-)

The continental breakfast was very limited, but did have cereal, yogurt, pastries, bagels, juice, coffee, milk, and some fruit. We're used to hotels that offer waffles, eggs, and bacon or sausage, so it was a little limited for us. But, it was still adequate and well presented.

I know some reviewers complained about noise from the trains. We did not find that to be the case (and our group had rooms all over the hotel). We stayed four nights and didn't hear the train more than a few times - and even then it wasn't loud at all.

I think everyone had a good time. In fact, I've heard that at least one of the families is going back to this hotel in the summer for a family vacation.
