“Carlsbad Seapointe Resort - A fun experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2012

My wife and I just completed a very enjoyable week long vacation at the Carlsbad Seapointe Resort. The beach is always a nice place to be, but Carlsbad Seapointe enhances that experience because it is so close and convenient to many outstanding attractions such as Legoland, Sea World, and San Diego. Don't miss this opportunity. And enjoy the Pizza Bingo hosted by Andrea and Nicole! Two charming young ladies!

Was suggested this place by a friend, was happy about being cheaper than most places, but I would not visit again. Our view consisted of a tree planter, our ocean sound consisted of the train running and the slim walls to hear our neighbors. If you plan on sleeping in, dont worry cause you wont due to hotel workers congregating and yelling at one another in some other language than I know. You can get to the ocean if you take a stroll across a major highway and down three flights of stairs. And if you enjoy a retirement community style, this is your place. Enjoy!

Everything was so nice. Great staff, beautiful unit, and fun activities. Andrea and Nicole made the pizza bingo fun. The Valentine's Day Sangria event was great!

Stayed using time share points for 3 days in mid-February. Can't add much to reviews already written. 2 bedroom unit was more than we needed, but all that was available, and it was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Double sink in master suite was plus. We were in Room 101, corner unit very convenient to lobby. Welcome cookies. Very good welcome breakfast. Sangria and karaoke. Friendly and enthusiastic staff. Unfortunately, weather was not conducive to trying out adult pool and spa. Nice fitness area. Free Wi-fi. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms above first floor would have better view of ocean.

Just my wife and I this trip. We own at the Outer Banks Beach CLub on the Outer Banks of NC. Seapointe is a very nice resort. Very clean with nice amenities. Definitely among the best resorts we have stayed at over the last 30 years. Andrea, Jae, Kelly and in fact all the staff we encountered were extremely nice and helpful. The only reason we can't name the other staff is because we don't remember names real well.
Everyone was great. The location was wonderful. We had a third floor, oceanfront one bedroom where we watched the beautiful sunsets over the ocean everynight. We drove (40Min.) to San Diego two different days. One day we did the zoo and the other day we toured La Jolla Cove, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, Old Town, Coronado and Seaport Village. Another day we went to the Oceanside Pier. We felt a day to LA would have been a long day so we skipped it. For the beach, we drove south just a few minutes to Ponto beach for easier access. Resort is located in a nice area of So-Cal. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone. We had absolutely NO ISSUES with the train noise mentioned in earlier reviews. It is soooo short, you barely know it went by.

Room Tip: Obviously top floor. ocean front is the best. If you don't want ANY NOISE issues, you might want...

Everything was so pleasant. Great staff, beautiful modern unit. Wonderful bedding, bathroom, kitchen, amenities and fabulous view of the ocean from our balcony. Large adult pool and spa as well as separate children's pool and play area. Beach is across the road but easy access. Jay at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this resort!

Room Tip: High Floor

Wow...We were completely impressed with the facilities. Great room, ocean view, spotless barbecues, etc.....

But, the highlight was what fun we had with the activities provided. Bingo with Andrea was a blast. She was lively, fun, wholesome and totally loved her job. The next night we attended free Sangria night with karoake. Again, Andrea was there, but this time joined by Stephanie and Nicole. They were delightful, encouraging people to sing and getting them to do so! They also did some fun performances themselves.

Same night had free rootbeer or orange floats while we listened to a man tell about his younger years sailing around the world. Very interesting.

Now we are midway through the week, and looking forward to Friday night free wine and cheese....which we'll pay a modest price for the the cheese.

Check in was easy and fast. The room was ready early. They accommodated us with an extra parking place for one night. This is a very hospitable, classy place.

The free breakfast ont he first day is just that, a free breakfast. No time share talk. Yay! They did have a few folks there to BRIEFLY describe services they offer if one wanted to partake....for example steel drum lessons, surfing lessons, aroma therapy info, etc.

I would definitely return here. They charge a $14/day activities fee. :( However, you do get lots of activities, including use of sand chairs, wagons, boogie boards, etc to take to the beach. There is a well equipped workout room as well.

All in all, a great place to vacation!

Room Tip: Get here a bit early to try to be sure to get a room with an ocean view. All are ocean front, but so...
