“Cute little hole in the wall Italian”

We have still not tried the sea food but the pasta is always great. Decent by the glass wine selection. Service can vary greatly depending on who you get.

“Incredible food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012 via mobile

I brought my New Jersey Italian family here, very picky when it comes to restaurant Italian cooking. THEY LOVED THE FOOD. Eggplant pizza meatballs great. Dinner menu was great huge portions. Price very reasonable for what you get. Debbie the owner did everything she could to accommodate us. Great place

“Overpriced!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012 via mobile

We went here after the day at Legoland. We were looking for local seafood and had found Jays online. They did not have any local seafood. The food was way overpriced and not very good. Service was good. I would not go back again.

“over priced for what you get”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

While in Carlsbad we decided to try Jay's. As the other reviews indicate, you do have to overlook the appearance....this included the less than professional looking "cook" somewhat leering out from the back. We started with a dinner salad that bordered on stale.....and followed with some of the best clam chowder we've had. Go figure. The main course of seafood pizza (large for $28 dollars!!) Was really just okay. We ate a few pieces and left the rest. Service was good but we were1 of 3 tables in the whole place.

“Don't let the appearance fool you!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

The atmosphere isn't anything to get excited about, but the food more than makes up for it! This is a fun and funky little place with fabulous Italian food and pizza - at reasonable prices.
