We stayed a night to attend a family members wedding in a near by city. I called the hotel before our arrival to ask for an earlier check in time and to ask that we get a ground room floor. The clerk told me what was available and I was happy to pay a little extra. We arrive and our room is ready and it was very nice. A nice view of the pool and a little walk way from our patio to the pool. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice, loved that the jacuzzi was far enough away from the pool. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The only problem was the television, the picture wasn't good and the toilet seat needed to be tightened. Other than that, it was a nice stay and we plan on going back again and asking for that same room

Decided to stay here because it was the best deal I could find when considering price, amenities, and location.

The rooms were a bit outdated. The pillows were cheap, mattress was average, toilet seat was loose, and towels were stained.

I was glad to see a mini refrigerator and microwave in the room. Balcony in room was also a plus. Breakfast was good. The shuttle to Legoland was really convenient, and kids enjoyed the pool.

Our room was upstairs which was a pain because we had to lug our suitcase and ice chest all the way up the stairs. If we stay here again, I am getting a floor level room for sure.

The hotel exterior looks quite run down and would need an expensive overhaul to really look top-notch like it may have one day. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine for one morning, but we were there for 3 mornings and by the third day, I was ready to go out instead of eating in. My kids were happy to eat there, so for them it was perfect. We were there for a trip to Legoland. As promised, there is a shuttle, but its really a minivan that seats 6 people. They have 2 vans with booster/carseats which is really nice. The problem is that if you aren't one of the first 12 to get in line, you could be waiting 20-30 mins. for a ride. It was a bit frustrating. We walked to Legoland the 2nd day. The shuttle will pick up as well, again 20-30 mins.

The interior of the room was mostly nice. The bathroom toilet/shower could use some updating, but the room was clean and updated in some areas. The beds were older. They have a great pool and spa. The kids were happy with the place and for the price and location to Legoland, you can't beat it. Again, kudos to the staff, they were very friendly all across the resort.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back area up against the freeway, don't stay there.

We stayed here for two nights in March with our three kids ages 2-8 for a Legoland weekend. Here is what I loved:

1. ROOMY ROOM. The rooms seemed a big dated but good quality. We liked having the vanity sink located outside the toilet/shower area. Bathroom window allowed ventilation. Kids loved the table and chairs on the balcony of our room. We were near the laundry on the south side but didn't hear noise in our room. It smelled fresh and was near the breakfast room.

2. BREAKFAST. The breakfast room has a lot of seats!! We were happy with the omelettes (Denver omelette was nice. Velveeta omelette was yucky until we removed the cheese. Problem solved.), sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit, great fresh bagels, milk, etc.

Tip to staff: Stick with the Denver Omelette and add Nestle Hot Cocoa to your breakfast!

3. LOCATION. The convenient location allowed us to do a lot of errands around dinnertime: Costco and a haircut down the street. Right next to the hotel we did brief outlet shopping plus meals at the Fish House, Panda Express, and BLAZE PIZZA!! (Best veggie pizza.) We also enjoyed driving on Armada one block away to get a free view of the flower fields next door.

4. LEGOLAND SHUTTLE. We took the shuttle early on a weekday, so we only waited for one family ahead of us. The drivers were GREAT at quickly and securely installing car seats for our kids. They gave great service and area tips. They even picked us up an hour after the park closed. (We entered a long line for a popular ride as the park was closing and did the giftshop after that.)

ALSO:
The hotel's windmill and gazebo area provided great photo ops.

The pool was filled with kids even as the sun was setting, so I'm guessing it was plenty warm. I didn't personally test the waters, though.

There were no stand out things about this resort. It was clean, affordable, and in walking distance to Legoland (also a free shuttle to and from Legoland). The room, pool, and spa were clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It's was an okay place. I would not stay there again because there are better places within the same area for similar prices if you look. Especially if you are doing Legoland. If you are an adult traveler wanting to avoid screaming kids, DO NOT stay here.

PROS
1. Great location. Nearby shops and food available. Within walking distance. Legoland is 'walking distance', if you don't mind a 15 minute uphill trek.
2.Shuttle service to Legoland. Runs all the time. Only once did we get stranded when the shuttle didn't show for pickup from the park for nearly an hour (lots of groups waiting at the end of the day). We finally gave up and walked the family back.
3.Staff was super friendly and helpful. Don't forget to tip your shuttle drivers!
4. Breakfast buffet was ok
5. Fridge and microwave in the room.

CONS
1. Old. Starting to look pretty shabby. Maids did an OK job, but the rooms were NOT resort. More like a roadside motel 6.
2. Shuttle only carry 6 at a time. They do have two, but don't always run them both.
3. Screaming mad kids ALL hours! (OK, my kids were amongst them, but I felt you needed fair warning).
4. Pool open until 10 PM. If you are ANYWHERE near the pool you will hear constant screaming.
5. It's a traffic nightmare drive to any grocery store. At least 10 minutes, on and off freeway.
6. Room walls paper thin. We had the opportunity to try and explain the very loud intimate noises coming from next door to our kids...
7. Free SLOW speed internet... Yes it had free wi-fi... speeds reminded me of the dial up modem days. VERY slow and unreliable.
8. The adjacent TGI Fridays is an abomination!

Room Tip: Stay away from pool!!

This is quite a large older resort. We had a nice room with outside sitting area almost opposite the pool and spa. The room was well maintained with microwave. The front of house staff were very helpful. The shuttle to Legoland was available all day. Simple phone call when ready to return. The breakfast included in price was adequate with limited hot selection. Paper plates and cups. Plastic cutlery..Good laundry facility.DFO directly opposite. This hotel was good value for money, especially for Legoand access.
