Was very much looking forward to playing Aviara as my playing partners played it in 2011 and loved it. Started off well enough, staff met us at car, took clubs, pro shop guys were great as was the starter. Driving range was good as was the putting green.
The course overall has a really good, challenging layout however the reason I gave it 2 stars is due to the condition and value paid. There was a lot of browning on the fairways, tons of inconsistent rough (barren patches) and the greens were not cut enough and were not rolled. The beverage cart lady was the most unfriendly we have ever come across to the point we avoided her and waited until the 9th where the cafe lady was great and good food. Upon arriving back at the clubhouse after 18 no staff, we expected to be met, clubs wiped down, maybe a cold towel especially given we paid over $200.00. Not sure this is a result of Hyatt taking over from Four Seasons however no comparison from the previous year, we will not be back.
