We have been to Zelda's many times during many family vacations in wonderful Capitola.
The food is generally tasty, if a bit pricy for what you are getting - but you're paying for the location. We like that it is open for a full breakfast daily.
The service has varied when we have went - our most recent trip is an example. We had a great waitress when we went for breakfast on Thursday. The menu didn't match what was outside, but she made it work. We decided to see if we could make a reservation for a large group the next day.
Went to the counter and reserved for 16. Let the girl know we could do 11, 12, 1pm. She said 12pm was good - there weren't any other really big groups. She asked inside or outside - we said inside. No problem.
Until we went the next day. Arrived at noon - they had the reservation but hadn't held the tables. The manager's response was, well, we can separate your group into two tables, or you can wait. No idea how long - 30 minutes, 45 minutes? So they take reservations, but don't actually reserve your table. Huh?
We left and went down the street to Paradise Beach Bar & Grill, which will be our first choice from now on. The food was fantastic and the service was great.
