The staff is very friendly and helpful. They responded quickly and with great attitudes to any thing we requested.
Their mattresses are awesome. Best I've slept on in a hotel/inn setting. Want one of those in my home

We were actually looking to stay in Santa Cruz, but ridiculously inflated hotel prices kept me from booking a room. The dingiest properties were $150 a night! I began looking in surrounding areas, and found Monarch Cove Inn. It far exceeded my expectations! Absolutely gorgeous property, beautiful rooms (we stayed in two), very peaceful and relaxing location, yet walking distance to the village, 10 min drive to beach boardwalk. There are many thoughtful little extras...the staff goes the extra mile for their guests. Breakfast was delicious! Next time I need a relaxing getaway, I know where to go spend the week, and sincerely hope to do so. Recommend 1000%!!!

This bed and breakfast is beautifully situated. Unfortunately, the staff is not around should you need anything. Breakfast is not served until 9am. The kitchen, which we did not need, was dated-1940's. TV remote did not work. The pastries at the breakfast were delicious.

We stayed two nights in April. We specifically chose the hideaway room for the private hot tub and asked at the time of booking if it was in good condition. Well, it wasn't. Someone came over to fix it the first night but it never got hot enough, just barely warm the second night as well. The breakfast tray is brought to the room, the pastries aren't vegan so we passed on it. The room was fine, location is the great part. There is a great boardwalk to the town. Not sure if I'd go back though, it didn't seem like a good deal.

The bed was unbelievably comfy and the large soaking tub in the room I stayed in was so great! The whole property is stunningly beautiful and the people in the office were so great and helpful to me. I will be back!

Room Tip: I did not have time to check out pool or fitness center, but just walking and the incredible view wa...

Looking for a quiet weekend away from it all while near the Bay Area, we decided on the Monarch Cove in Capitola. Mission accomplished. We enjoyed the quiet location of the property and beautiful views. Stayed in the Victorian Room, which was comfortable. The room accommodations aren't extravagant, but appropriately comfortable. Would say the same for the breakfast. Appreciated mix of pastries, fruit, yogurt, etc. Again, nothing gourmet, but got the job done. Loved the relatively short walk down to Capitola Village shops and restaurants. Would stay here again without hesitation.

....place could use a bit of updating but overall, just a great place. You can walk to the Village from the hotel which is a huge benefit given Capitola can get very busy and parking fills up quickly. The staff at this hotel are super friendly and best of all, some of the units allow dogs. Overall, our family had a great experience at this hotel.

Room Tip: I would go with either the 1 or 2 bedroom cottage. A bit more privacy. If you want a view, then get...
