“Couldn't fault it - and I am hard to please.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012 via mobile

What an amazing place!

I had booked the table long before our trip having found this restaurant on Google. I am very pleased that I Sid as it was a Saturday night and the place was rammed. However tables are spaced very far apart and the restaurant is made up of tens (yes, tens) of different rooms and patios so it feels like you are dining in a smaller, more intimate place.

I thought the food was going to be good, not great as it was more about the "experience" here: I was so wrong!

We both had the baked brie starter. Stunning. Simply stunning. A pastry wrapped parcel of evenly melted cheese with herb crustini and a very tangy hot pepper jelly. Wow!

We followed with the lobster tail and filet mignon. Perfectly cooked.

No room for desserts, although they looked superb. We had a great coffee and we still haven't stopped talking about the meal :)

Top tip - book your table for half hour before sunset, if you can.

Mediocre food, fantastic romantic atmosphere.. Tram takes you to restaurant. Cellar has huge stone fireplace. VERY overpriced. Let your date take you!

“Just OK”

This is a nice special occasion restaurant. The food is good, but not great. Cool old building, a little outdated decor, but that's part of the ambiance. They are missing an opportunity not being open for brunch or lunch on the weekends. Location is really great.

“family gathering”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

I was impressed with the people - nice group of people working there. One spent the time to tell us a little history of the place. The food was good - tasty and nice choices. Wine list was decent - and it was great that the server knew them enough to mention a couple he would recommend.

“Delightful Anniversary Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

The ambience at this restaurant makes it a must-see, but the food really brings it to another level. The cuisine was excellent: I had scallops and my husband had the rack of lamb. The server knew to wish us a "Happy Anniversary." Tip: walk down through the gardens when you arrive, and ride the funicular back up after your meal.
