“Great Beach Getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

I am an original owner(since1980's). I own the largest plan, 2BR 2BA End unit. A little known secret is that the 2BR 2BA end units on the San Clemente side are larger & more quiet than the units facing the mexican restaurant. Both bedrooms are HUGE, as is the spa tub in master BR. Large balcony off LR & MBR w/BBQ & table/4 chairs. Ceiling fans in BRs, 2 flat screen TVs. Free use of bikes & beach chairs/sand toys. You can catch the train to Anaheim for Disneyland, Angels baseball & Ducks hockey games or to San Diego for the Zoo, Chargers football or Padres baseball games from San Clemente or San Juan Capistrano train stations nearby. Whale & dolphin watching boats, jet skis, standup & regular paddle boards, kayaks, motor scooters, electric bikes & surreys are for rent in Dana Point & San Clemente. Go to San Clemente Pier Fisherman's Bar Monday thru Friday for the $3 dinners w/pano view & smell of ocean surf. Go to San Clemente 99 cent store to stock up on cheap groceries & Costco for more expensive items. Fish Bucket in Dana Point has some great specials, Tues. 2-4-1 prices w/live music on patio. The Strand at Dana Point(PCH north to Selva)is one of the most beautiful beaches & it's adjacent to Ritz Carlton. You can see backside of multi-million $$ homes from beachfront sidewalk. Not for elderly because too many stairs down to beach. Front desk at Surfside Inn ask for Agostina, she is the best and knows the area well.

Great service from Agustina and her staff!! A typical hotel does not have a full kitchen with all the hardware that's required to create a meal. You even get a grill in your patio, with the outdoor table in order to enjoy that sea breeze. Which is a great money saver when your on a tight budget that does not allow you to eat out every time. Will go back again in a heart beat.

We are owners here, and this is my favorite week out of every year. I love the location right across from the beach, but it's also an easy drive to Anaheim, Legoland, and San Diego. We have great service every time we are there, and I hate leaving to go home. They make simple upgrades to the property every year to keep it nice, and it is a well-managed property. We also own a timeshare elsewhere that we convert to points, so we stay at many places around the country, and this one never gets old because of the home-y feel.

I loved it this place! A lot bigger than what you would get in a hotel room. Pretty much like a one-bedroom apartment. Loved having the kitchen and even had some friends over for a BBQ! Nice size deck. Having the beach across the way was heavenly. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I had a chance to enjoy the pool which was nice too. I didn't really want to leave. A few pubs and restaurants within walking distance which was so nice. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend to friends. Very reasonable too!

We purchased a Sundowner week here around 7 years ago. The Sundowner units are 2BR/1BA and all face the ocean on the corners of the building. We live in Alaska so it took a while before we could go down, so in 2008 we stayed for 2 weeks, and it was FANTASTIC!! We have been timeshare owners for over 10 years and have stayed in places all over the country, but this is our favorite! The staff is so friendly and efficient, we feel like it is our home away from home. We love it and bought another week this last winter, Sea Captain, 2BR, 2BA and are looking forward to staying there this coming November. I can't believe the bad reviews, but some people can't be pleased no matter what. We had guests stay there 5/27/12 - 6/3/12 and they wrote me yesterday raving about how much they loved the resort. We will keep coming back!!

Room Tip: You can make a room reservation in advance, starting at 3 months prior to your stay. The units in t...

My husband and I purchased a timeshare at the Capistrano Surfside Inn last year. We love it. It's clean, cozy and feels like home. The staff is friendly and the ammenities are very well kept. It's a great place to stay, especially if you live Inland, it's close by but yet you feel like you're really getting away from it all. Great restaurants in all the surrounding areas as well.

Our stay here was in a sub par room far from the room we exchanged where we own our time share, we had rude customer service particularly from Patricia, we had mold in the shower on the ceiling and headrests, stains on the carpet in the livingroom, stains on the musty mold smelling couch, cracked toilet tank with hard stains on the rim, unpainted & poorly painted items, missing ceiling light covers, a front door that didn't close completely we noticed after we took showers and were on our way out (great sense of security), poor wifi that you had to sign in every couple of hours that speed I clocked at dial up speed. The only good thing about this place is its by the bridge to walk to the beach and maybe if you have an ocean view room, the gym, rental bikes, rental movies (VHS) were outdated

Not all of our units are oceanview. Our guests through the exchange company have the opportunity to call the resort 1 month in advance to request an oceanfront unit. Sometimes, when an exchange guest is assigned to a non-oceanfront unit, they create problems in their unit in an effort to have us move them to a room with a view. If we know a guest is unhappy, we make every effort possible to move them to an oceanfront room. But a small resort that runs at full occupancy most of the year, that it not always a possibility. All rooms are inspected on a weekly basis. Please read our other reviews from the last few years before taking this one into consideration.
