“Great Concierge and the property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2012

We just had a great holiday in Annupuri Village. The property is super clean and well-maintained. The staffs are always so helpful that we didn't have any troubles even though we did not speak any Japanese. They recommended very good restaurants and we loved all the foods in Niseko!

Also the location of the property is close to the ski runs yet still gives a nice "mountain" feel to it. It is so quiet at night and we slept so well!! This was one of the very few opportunities to have a hassle free ski vacation with kids!

Annupuri Village is a "village" of (approx 12) beautiful holiday homes. The houses are all different and are owned by different people (mostly Americans), but when their families aren't staying there, Annupuri Village manages them as chalets for holiday-makers.

We stayed in a large, 2-storey 3-bedroom house. It was built in 2008. Some are newer but many are slightly older. It had a basement entertainment area with DVD player and Nintendo Wii (DVDs and games can be borrowed free-of-charge from reception), a large kitchen and lounge, a master bedroom with ensuite, laundry, and upstairs 2 bedrooms each with 2 beds and another bathroom.

The house was clean, although the decor was a bit daggy and we were asked not to use the wood stove (the central heating kept us comfortable anyway). There was a large verandah out the back extending all around the main lounge room to the front door.

Different size houses are available, sleeping up to 12. I'd recommend Annupuri Village for big groups especially. I loved it and I'll be back!

We stayed at Shirakaba Chalet and it was probably one of the nicest, cosiest houses I've ever seen. It didn't feel like an impersonal hotel, it was like arriving home! Stunning beyond belief. It was spotlessly clean, modern, had a fully functioning kitchen, home theatre... anything you could ask for, this house had it. The floor to ceiling window in the living room was gorgeous. We only stayed for two nights but we didn't want to leave. I want to buy the place and move in tomorrow! Annupuri is one of three towns in the Niseko ski resort area and it's the quietest of them all which was exactly to our liking. It's a 10 minute walk to the Annupuri ski lift or a 2 minute drive. It's a 15 minute drive to Hirafu, the most built up ski area and another 10 minutes to Kutchan, the main town at the foot of Yotei-zan. There is the most amazing little handmade soba restaurant called Rakuichi just down the road, literally a 6 minute walk away, hidden like a treehouse along a wooden walkway. A must-do experience!
The staff were ridiculously warm, friendly and helpful. A great chalet experience. Don't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Shirakaba looked like one of the nicest chalets - a perfect position away from the road.
