“Gives a historical feelings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

The remnants of the Dzong still shows its magestic features - very good natural beauty while hiking to the top from the side road with a close glimse to the rish flora and birds of Bhutan. It got severely burnt thus only remnants left -so anyone who cannot visualize the history from relics should refain from hiking for such location.

“Limited Access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

These are the ruins of an old fortress but they did not permit entry inside the ruins so all you could do is enjoy the surroundings which are not that bad considering that the place is actually set in a very scenic location and the views are breathtaking. You could enjoy a good stroll around and enjoy the exteriors and outer areas of the ruins

“Unspoilt”

The place has Natural atmosphere. It is neatly maintained. Gives us insight into the past. The road is little uncomfortable now as repair work is being undertaken

“Starting point of our trek”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

The dzong was destroyed in a fire in the 50ies and is now a ruin, pretty impressive though considering the history as a trap for intruders.
It sits on a hill above the Paro valley and was the starting point of our trek.
