“Great location…service needs improvement.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

This restaurant has the potential to be something very special. It's on the main drag in downtown Campbell, and there's a wonderful California indoor/outdoor element to the architecture, with huge glass panels that open the restaurant up to a beautiful outdoor patio, with tables, couches, and a fire pit. I want to love it here. But I always end up feeling like the service is a little...quirky. For example, we arrived to a relatively empty patio with 4 servers milling around near the patio/bar area. We spent 15 minutes waiting for one of the servers chatting amongst themselves to take our order. Perhaps the person assigned to our table didn't happen to be available, but I'd expect one of the other servers to pick up the slack. Oddly enough, when a couple of guys sat down, they were immediately approached by a server. Maybe a coincidence, that's fine. Girls don't tip as much? We're great tippers, Opa servers, just so you know. Feel free to serve us, we eat, drink, and tip generously, especially when you are nice to us.

They don't do reservations on the patio, and they don't allow more than 13 people at their largest table near the kitchen. In general terms, it seems like they have a lot of rules that could potentially get in the way of delighting the customer. I understand, there are probably fire codes and city regulations and a bunch of other bureaucratic red tape that forces their hand when it comes to customer service, but I have to believe that there is more they might do to really make the experience fantastic.

“Great appetizers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

Wide variety of appetizers that can be a meal & the Sangria is not bad either ;)

Only drawback it's kinda loud so if you want conversation might try the patio.

“Cold food, awfully noisy, poor service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

We love Greek cuisine, so we decided to give this place a shot.
45 minutes of waiting, and we finally got a table. Unfortunately we could barely take our places, because the tables are standing sooo close to each other that there is really not enough place to sit comfortably.
We hated the VERY noisy atmosphere of this place. We had to shout to each other - literally! Horrible! The music is loud, so people are loud. And then the music is louder, so people are too. And sooo it goes.
And service.... ohh, they are sooo slow and lazy!
We asked for a whole bottle of wine, but the waiter brought us 2 glasses. We told him that we asked for a bottle, but he tried to convince us that 2 glasses and 1 bottle have the same capacity. We insisted, and it turned out there were almoust 4 glasses in 1 bottle of wine.
As for the food - they mixed the sides for our dishes. Some of us wanted fries, others rice, or salad - at the end we all got something we didn't ask for. Uhh...
What's more - we had to wait almost an hour to get our food - and when we finally got it, it was totally COLD. Like it was standing somewhere for like 20 minutes.
The flavour was flat - greek cuisine is full of herbs, and this food was not.
The portions vere too small, considering the money we paid. Really... pita bread, chicken and vegetables are not so expensive components.

All in all... poor experience. It's a pitty, because the place looks nice. But the food and service is NOT.

“A good variety of Greek Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

There was a distinct need for Greek food in the South Bay that I believe Opa may have filled.
The food is excellent the service is good and so too is the atmosphere.
This restaurant has a romantic atmospher and is worthwhile visiting.

“So good we went 3 times in December alone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

I love greek food and I think Opa in Campbell is the best in Santa Clara. Have tried many of the dishes now - and it never disappoints. Had the kids with us and plenty to choose from for them as well.

Great and fun drinks menu - and the atmosphere is always friendly, warm and inviting.
