“Safe and Great Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

This tour was perfect, we had a fantastic time with my wife and I (mid 40s) and our son (13 yrs). It only took 1 hour to get to from the beach area by Playa Coco, Hermosa & Panama. Mostly paved roads except the last 1/2 hour. We zip lined, water slide (400 meters long), hot spring, steam bath and mud bath. They also have hanging bridges if zip lines are not your thing. The water falls are there but it takes more time we didn't have. The price was $80 per person for all + lunch.

“A little of everything and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

I did the Extreme Mega-Combo Tour - horseback riding, zipline, water slide, natural spring and mud bath - and it was all fantastic. The staff was great, the location helped get out of the heat for a day, and the views just spectacular. I could spend a year in that hot spring!

“Extreme Mega-Combo Tour with INCREDIBLE views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

My wife and I just got back from our week in Costa Rica and we spent an entire day at Buena Vista Lodge and Adventure. We had researched (via TripAdvisor) prior to our trip and decided against booking with a tour guide company, we just booked directly with the Buena Vista Lodge. We had a rental car and drove ourselves from the Papagayo Bay area and it took us an easy hour and 10 minutes. It was easy to navigate the drive as there were really only 2 turns from Liberia! Although once you reach the gravel road, which is a few miles long, it is *very bumpy*, but our little sedan made it fine. As we approached the Lodge, we noticed about a hundred horses being hearded (sans a cowboy) up the drive to change pastures I guess. So we were surrounded by horses... which was entertaining and we got some great photos.
We chose to pay the extra $10 to do the Extreme Mega Combo Tour rather than just the Mega Combo tour. That $10 gave us MUCH longer ziplines, they were extremely high, and included a Tarzan swing a million feet in the air (so it seemed). I actually chickened out from the Tarzan swing once we reached the platform because of just how high it was and how big of a drop, but my wife loved the adrenaline rush. We started our day with the horseback riding and it lasted about 45 min- an hour. It was nice, pretty standard. We were pleased our horseback riding trip only included the 2 of us and our guide, so it was private! We had great, easy horses that knew the way by heart. We did off road a little and go down into some water and such. Once we reached the mud baths we lathered up and let it dry, then rinsed off and hit up the gorgeous hot springs. They really were beautiful with lovely landscaping and foliage. We ordered 2 pina coladas and relaxed in the hot springs (they had varying temperatures). Then took the tractor back up to the lodge to eat lunch. On our way up to the lodge, we happened upon a large family of spider monkeys playing in the jungle, it was so fun! They started throwing sticks at one of the guys trying to take a picture near their trees. The lunch was fabulous, they grow everything (or mostly everything) on their property, including the beef. They gave us the best "authentic" Costa Rican meal we had on our entire trip! Then we did the zip line tour and waterslide. The waterslide was super fast, I almost flipped my innertube twice and it gave me quite the adrenaline rush. Overall, after doing ziplining in 3 countries, this trip, with Buena Vista Lodge (and our very friendly and funny guide Gary) was by far the most adrenaline filled ziplining and had the most incredible views!!! I'll post pictures so you can see how high up we were! Oh, if you book directly with them, it is $90 a person, all inclusive of everything I mentioned, including lunch... or $80 if you do the more standard ziplines and no tarzan swing. We started our day with them at 9am and finished by about 2:30pm. They had changing rooms at each site and lockers available to store your stuff. The only thing that wasn't included in our $90 was the alcohol drinks at the hot springs, but at $6 a drink, for a lovely and stong drink, it was very reasonable! We loved our visit!

“Buena Vista Lodge with Diego”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

We visited Buena Vista Lodge with Diego (Email: bustosdieg@gmail.com; Cell: (506) 8833-2926; Office: (506)-2653-7018 & ask for Diego) of Adrenaline Tours as our guide. We were staying in Playa Hermosa for our family vacation. Diego brought us to the Buena Vista Lodge, where we walked the trail with the hanging bridges, hiked to the waterfalls, and visited the hot springs. Diego was very familiar with this location, so he was a wonderful tour guide. We seemed to beat all of the crowds, even though there were a lot of people there that day! He had it timed perfectly. We even got to enjoy Pina Coladas while at the hot springs! Diego kindly took pictures of our family throughout the day, and was very enjoyable to be around. Following our visit to Buena Vista, Diego brought us to Sun Burst for a coffee tasting, and also to a local fruit stand in Liberia, where we bought a delicious pineapple and coconut. If you are looking for a very personalized adventure in Guanacaste, we highly recommend you contact Diego. He will have a wealth of ideas on how to make your stay exciting & one you'll never forget!

“Nice activities at Buena Vista Lodge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

Done the horseback riding to three waterfalls and after that spent a few hours in the hot springs. Was very nice. Beautiful trip by horse with magnificent views of surrounding nature. You can swim in the natural pool of the second waterfall. Also, the hot springs are beautifully situated in the middle of the jungle. These are less commercial than other hot springs: locker and towels free of charge, sauna and mudbath included, low pricing.
Still, some improvements can be made: our guide during the ride was very kind, but didn't speak English. Before going horseback riding an introduction and instructions would be necessary in my opinion, but neither of both were given
