On the advice of friends who have a family reunion here every year, my girlfriends and I stayed here two nights. We were here to see the Hearst Castle, about 8 miles from Cambria, and we're so glad we took their advice The "new part" of the hotel is recently finished and each of our rooms had two queens, a tub and bath, a private little patio, TV and free wifi as well as complimentary breakfast. AND there are $3 well drinks at happy hour in the lounge with a huge screen!
This is a tourist destination and there are bus tours here, but the staff is competent and quick to respond.
We would stay here again.
A caveat: we were here in the hottest two days in California history and the Cambria Pines doesn't have air conditioning. It cooled off nicely at night, but when it is 105 during the day, the rooms are hot when we got back from our tours.
