“Best room we've had while staying in Cambria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

I love hearing the ocean. We had an ocean front room that has sliding doors. While we were in the room we had the doors open and could see and hear the ocean. We slept with the door open which was heavenly to me. If it's cool you can turn on the fireplace. There's a large bathtub ( good for soaking) and a separate shower. The only downside is there is limited parking for larger cars; they have mostly compact spaces.

We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. There's nothing better than leaving your sliding glass door open to enjoy the ocean air along with the ambiance of the fireplace. We hope you visit us again if your ever in the area. Thank you for choosing Moonstone Landing.

Sincerely,
Moonstone Landing

Great location, great rooms and helpful staff. Best place to stay in Cambria. Plenty of options for eating nearby. Across the road from the beach, and a mile from some great little shops. Quiet location, and very peaceful.

Room Tip: Any room will do - but ask for one at the front for ocean views.

This is another great area lodging right on Moonstone beach and next to the very popular Sea Chest restaurant. It greatly resembles the Little Sur Inn 2 doors down, which is a great thing since the Little Sur is our favorite place on Moonstone Beach. Even rooms that don't face west have partial ocean views and fireplaces. LIke the Little Sur, the bathrooms are large and nicely tiled in stone. The staff is friendly and efficient. My only very small complaint was the the bed felt just a bit lumpy. Though not enough to keep me awake. Otherwise it was a perfect stay. Perhaps the best time to go to Cambria is in October when they hold their Scarecrow Festival. There are over 200 of them and some are very creative. We always come up this time of year. In the morning we saw dolphins a few yards from shore feeding near the kelp. Amazing.

Room Tip: You don't really have to have an end (west facing) room to enjoy your stay but most will say it...

Both of our family built and owned hotels, Moonstone Landing & Little Sur Inn, flank either side of the very popular Sea Chest Restaurant. It's nice to hear that you have enjoyed your stay at both of our hotels. The October Scarecrow Festival has become a very popular time for guests to visit our area, which also tends to be our warmest time of year as well. Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope to see you again when your in the area.

Sincerely,
Moonstone Landing

we stayed 2 nights at Moonstone landing. The room was nice. I would stay again but not on the ground floor. It was a bit stuffy in the room, but with the drapes and windows open, there were always people walking right by the window. One floor up in the same location would have been fine. They had a small fridge and microwave, but no utensils, no corkscrew, no dishes. We borrowed a couple forks from the lobby.
The bed was a little soft, and should probably be replaced soon.
The location was great, and a bonus that they included breakfast and wifi.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate all feedback from our guests in order for us to capitalize on any suggestions for improvement. As typical with most hotel properties, the 2nd floor rooms do tend to be a little quieter and more private. Thank you for choosing Moonstone Landing for your visit.

Sincerely,

Booked this online and did not know what to expect. Had pretty good reviews and we were hopeful. Moonstone Beach is beautiful and it looked like there were quite a few nice hotels facing the beach. We arrived at Moonstone and were very impressed with what we saw. It is a great location and the check in was fast and easy and friendly. The room was excellent! Very comfortable, felt like it was new and very well taken care of. Walked next door for a great seafood dinner and enjoyed the ocean views from the hotel. A beautiful location and a beautiful hotel. Highly recommended.

We stayed for two nights on a PCH road trip. We spent a day touring Hearst Castle (we needed the entire day, well worth every penny!), then came home to our quaint little room, with a lovely fireplace and view of the ocean. It was dead quiet, the boardwalk runs forever along the beach, the nearby restaurants are wonderful and the staff at Moonstone Landing outdo themselves making your trip comfortable and special. The complimentary breakfast is more than plenty, they have coffee on for most of the day, and they have a wonderful afternoon tea, where you can spend a few minutes planning the rest of your trip if you haven't already. The staff are a wealth of information. We loved this place and would not hesitate to stay here again!
