We stayed at the Pelican Cove Inn for 2 nights as part of a couples retreat with our church. We booked our room using the special internet rates and received a better deal than the retreat rate.
Our room had a large jetted tub and it was huge! The decor in the room was very beautiful and there was a lovely fireplace that heated the room.
The staff was welcoming and very helpful. We felt like royalty during our stay. A full breakfast buffet was provided each morning from 7:30 am - 10 am, so no hurry to wake up to eat. Also a wonderful dessert bar in the evening with cheescakes and other yummy desserts.
The beach is right across the street and can be seen from many rooms at the hotel.
I highly recommend the Pelican Cove Inn. The rooms with ocean view were lovely, but our room (no ocean view) with the large jetted tub (room 217) was the nicest room we saw out of all the ones rented by our group.

This Inn is a rip off. My fiance and I are a young couple and my fiance surprized me with this spir of the moment trip to cambria. I went online and found this inn. Everything about the trip was fine untill on Monday I look at my back accounts online and I see an extra charge for $272.50. I call the hotel and ask why we got charged? Thier response was that there was a smoke smell in the room so they chaged us the penalty fee of $250 plus tax. We DID NOT smoke in or around that room. I even went the extent to smoke my cigerette in the parking lot by my car. I am very fustrated and have contacted the BBB and my credit card company to dispute these charges. I feel that this establishment discriminates against young people and thought they would earn an extra couple of dollars at our expense. Dont let this happen to you. If you or anybody in your party is a smoker DO NOT go to this inn they will charge you $250 even if you breath on the linens!!!!

This stay was a birthday trip from the bay area. Just a couple day get away in a great location. Our trip was to see local spots like Hearst Castle, San Simeon beach and walks along main street. We also made point to dine at the Sows Ear for a celebratory dinner.

So about the Inn. I found the location to be perfect. Situated directly across the street from Moonstone Beach and direct access to a walkway/boardwalk/trail. With easy access onto the beach in a couple spots.

The lobby expirience set the tone for my stay. My girlfiend and I were greeted with warm smiles and nothing but helpful concern. They offer free buffets for breakfast in the mornings, wine and cheese in the afternoon and dessert in the evenings. Our room was nice. Gas fireplace and the 2 person tub in the bathroom were a great touch, but I did select the jacuzzi suite when booking. The other option is ocean view when booking through the hotels easy reservation system. We had no real view except of the hot-tub and middle buildings rear parking lot. We paid about $150 a night early winter.

Overall it was a great.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The style of the rooms was not necessarily our style (check out the hotel's website to see the decor of the rooms), but it was clean and comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. My husband called ahead and ordered flowers and champagne to the room upon our arrival and everything was as he had requested when we entered our room.
We were told we had a partial ocean view, but that was only if you were sitting in one particular chair, looking out of one particular window.
The hotel is right across the road from the ocean and there is a very nice boardwalk along the beach. There are several restaurants within walking distance and you can walk into town. It is a very short drive into town.
The breakfast is ok, as is the dessert buffet and they have a nice selection of wines each evening.
Parking is free.
While in Cambria, we really enjoyed eating at the Black Cat Bistro and The Sea Chest. For more affordable fare, we enjoyed Linn's on Bridge St. and the Main Street Grill.

Stayed two nights at Pelican Cove. We LOVED this place! The location is fabulous, right across the street from Moonstone Beach--amazing sunsets!! Rooms were very nice, with gas fireplaces and all amenities. A very nice wine and cheese buffet in the afternoon, a great dessert buffet in the evening and a hot breakfast buffet in the morning are all included in the price. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance. Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seals are a short drive away. It doesn't get any better than this!
