“GREAT Stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2011

My husband and I could not have been happier with our choice in this motel for our stay the night of September 6th. As previous reviews have stated, the staff is so warm and welcoming. We upgraded to a balcony ocean view room and had an excellent view of the ocean. Here are some main points of our stay:
* Our room was 1st floor and I believe some other reviewers have noted the noise from the 2nd floor when staying in a 1st floor room but this was not the case for us. We did not hear anything from those staying above us.
* Our room was clean and equiped with anything we needed, and much more. The area is so peacefull and quite that we enjoyed the sound of the ocean during the night.
* We were offered complimentary drinks and movies to make our stay more enjoyable. We didn't take advantage of the movies as the ocean was enjoyment for us but the hot chocolate sure was good!
* The complimentary breakfast was good. It consisted of pastries, waffles, cereals, yogurt, and fresh fruit. YUM.

The ocean view was wonderful but we weren't planning on staying in that room. The day was just too beautiful and we ended up deciding to splurge one night. The other rooms are most likely nice as well and you have quick access to what seemed to be a very nice walking trail by the ocean.

We ended up grabbing a pizza from Cambria and coming back and eating it on our patio. The pizza from JJ's was very good.

I really don't think you will go wrong choosing this as your place to stay while on vacation.

Stayed here the end of August for a Thursday night. Close to beach, literally across the street, however most of the restaurants in town are a 10 minute drive away. Stayed on the 2nd floor, quieter on this floor than the first floor due to stair case. The walls seemed a little thin, but it was quiet after 9pm. Pretty well-stocked continental breakfast with good beverage selection, they even make the waffles for you. Smaller breakfast room, but clean. Overall stay was good, clean room and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Only 1-2 pet rooms available here

I did alot of searching for places to stay and eat in the area. The best price was not through priceline, travelocity etc but calling them directly. A big comfortable bed and fireplace was fabulous as it was may and still chilly.(we are from florida). We had a lower price room so just a glimpse of the ocean from our window but still could hear the wonderful surf on the beach. Everything was neat and clean, the continental breakfast had quite a few options. Will definately go back when in that area again.

The Sand Pebbles Inn was a delightful bed and breakfast where my husband and I stayed on the first night of our journey from LA to San Francisco. About a 5-hour drive north of Santa Monica along the scenic Highway 1 route, it was the perfect place for an overnight stay, since it was located about halfway between LA and San Francisco, and just minutes away from the famous Hearst Castle.

We had the choice of full ocean view, partial ocean view, and no ocean view rooms, with prices varying accordingly. We chose the partial ocean view room, and were more than pleased. The room was so cozy, with a gas fireplace, large comfy bed, even a mini-fridge and microwave which would have been good for longer stays. Even though it was the end of June, being steps away from the Pacific made it chilly, so the fireplace was a welcome amenity. But it was nice to be able to open the window and hear the sound of the waves and see the boardwalk and beach from our room.

Cambria is a small town, so the restaurant choice was not huge, but the reception desk provided us with a binder with all restaurants in the area as well as the menus for each one. In the morning, there was a complimentary buffet breakfast which included made-to-order waffles, hard-boiled eggs, fruit cups, yogurt, cereal, tea and coffee; more than enough to get us started on our journey that day. I must also mention that the staff here was very friendly and helpful -- the pleasant receptionist who showed us the rooms and helped us choose a restaurant for dinner, the kitchen staff, the maid, and even the gardener who had a smile and hello for us. Everyone was so welcoming. We were extremely pleased with our stay here, and would love to return someday.

Room Tip: The partial ocean-view room is the best value for money

Stayed in the Suite, we were traveling with road bikes and the extra space was Perfect, as was the mini fridge & microwave. The staff is wonderfully hospitable, professinal, just perfect! All the amenities are TOP-NOTCH, as soon as I arrived home yesterday, I ordered the same bath & bed linens used at Sand Pebbles. Breakfast was perfect, yummy waffles, nice assortment, we can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Ocean Views AMAZING! Suite had little view, BUT had amazing ocean sounds.

Loved the Sand Pebble Inn, staff is very friendly and personable. Waffle are great, great small town area. The room (114) was very nice, with a small view of the ocean, loved the small touches they place in the room, candy, cookies, bath goodies. The weather was unexpectedly cold, but fireplace in the room is a very nice touch. We plan to come back prepared for hot/cold weather the next time.

We had two rooms to accommodate four adults for one night. The hotel staff was wonderful, the room was beautifully decorated, the bathroom had plenty of space. We paid a little extra for a partial ocean view room. The cost was well worth it. We left the window open and could hear the sound of the surf. We checked out before 8 a.m. and the manager arranged for breakfast room to open early. It's a charming hotel in a beautiful area.
