“Great stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

We stayed at Creekside as part of our awesome Highway 1 drive along the coast. I am always weary of online booking, but was very relieved when I saw the Creekside Inn. The owners were extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. The Inn is beautiful on the outside and our room was clean and large on the inside. We even got lucky and were able to watch the deer along the creek from our balcony. I highly recommend this to place to family and friends and we will stay there on all our trips along the coast.

Room Tip: Bottom floor with balcony overlooking the creek.

Creekside Inn was a great experience for us. We arrived at about 5pm and spoke to Tim, a friendly guy who made us feel welcome and assured. The room was clean, fairly spacious and a decent level of amenities (including a very powerful shower).

The quirky decorations outside the reception area added a nice touch and made the inn very unique.

It's in walking distance to all the little shops, bars and restaurants along Main Street, and a short drive to Moonstone Beach, where you can collect moonstones (or get proposed to, like my boyfriend did!).

Overall, a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay when we return to Cambria.

My husband and I stayed at Creekside Inn the night after we got married. We thought it would be fun to do a road trip back home with our dogs and chose Creekside because it allowed dogs. However, when we arrived, one of the proprietors came out and demanded our name. Then she rudely announced that she had given away our room and she could no longer help us. Apparently my husband's phone number and credit card had been written down incorrectly. She accused us of cheating them! We tried to calmly explain to her that there must have been some mistake but it was not until my husband demanded to see the incorrect phone number and credit card that she went to get the other proprietor. He was not as rude from the start and finally admitted they had not actually given away our room. However, he continued to make comments strongly insinuating we had purposefully given the wrong information in an effort to "shop around for a better rate." Without going into much more detail, I would say that I would never stay at the Creekside Inn again. Their treatment of customers is appalling. Moreover, the quality of the room was definitely not worth the price.

We regret that aliciabear's experience at Creekside Inn was less than desireable, but we would like to clarify a couple of her key points. We held and secured their room with a credit card they had provided. As with all reservations, at 5:00 P.M. on the date of their arrival we attempted to authorize their card, which unfortunately turned out to be a non-existent number. We then called the phone number provided by aliciabear and found that the number she had given us was also bad. On a near sold-out summer night, we WILL sell a room if it is not secured by a VALID credit card, and we have no way of contacting the guest. Their room was sold, but in order to accomodate them as best we could, we did something we never do, and put them in a non-pet room. We also regret that aliciabear misinterpreted our pointing out her miscommunication as being rude, particularly after we went the extra mile to assure they had comfortable accomodations for the night.

We stayed with our 7 year old son and dog for 2 nights at this very nice motel in Cambria, walking distance to the stores and restaurants.
The owners were wonderful, very helpful, offered recommendations for local eateries and places of interest. It was a little pricey though. The breakfast included freshly baked tasty pastries from the town's bakery. The motel room was very clean and we liked having a little balcony facing the creek. The owners went out of their way to help us even after we checked out and needed some help. Very much recommended!!!!

Room Tip: the rooms facing the creek are very quiet and some include a balcony

We stayed at this hotel on our trip from San Francisco to San Diego along HWY 1. Neat little place. Very clean and cute. A little pricey for what you get. The rooms are just average but they butt up to a creek. Very quiet. It is located really close to the village. That was really nice. If it were a little less expensive, I would have given it 4 stars.

I booked my stay for a trip to San Simeon, and I would have liked it better at half the price. My room was too warm in mid-July. To get any air circulation I had to open the sliding glass door to the balcony and wedge the luggage rack in the track for safety. I took my chances that some vagrant couldn't wedge himself in the crack without my hearing it first. I paid $20 more for a balcony which was about 6 feet above the ground in the back, which was bordered by woods about 50 feet from the motel. The TV got about 4 channels.

Room Tip: Top (second) floor, or you'll hear the guests above you walking around.

this is our 5th trip to Cambria but our first stay at Creekside Inn. We usually stay in one of the hotels/inns on Moonstone Beach but none were available for our dates. The Inn is right on Main street, walking distance to the village's many stores and restaurants. Ample parking lot & and pleasant facade greeted our arrival. Shareen (sp?) spoke with us warmly at check-in and made recommendations to local restaurants. We got room#5 (handi-capped accessible) for family of 3. Big room, dated (don't expect romantic sumptuous beds) but bed are comfortable enough. Bathroom is also dated but clean and in working order. Continental breakfast consisted of coffee, juice & pastries. We like that we can walk to main street for meals. Overall good value for the money. Wouldn't mind staying there again.
