“We will always come back here when we are needing a hotel in Camarillo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2009

When we arrived we noticed a large group os teens. When we asked if we could be sure and be put in a room that would be quiet,Nick was very gracious and gave us a great room. The room was clean, comfortable, and a great spot to sleep. Hiway noise is always to be expected when traveling so our little white noise maker did a perfect job for us.

the Good
--Nancy, the night clerk, who was very optimistic and friendly
--the room had been painted recently

the Bad
--lumpy bed, hard pillows and rough sheets
--very loud noise from the freeway, with no fan to hide the noise
--the "breakfast" - coffee pots were empty, about 6 tiny pastries and 2 small muffins left, with an hour to go for breakfast time....
--the morning staff who were chatting while ignoring the lack of breakfast above
--bath faucets were rusty and didn't work properly

the Ugly
--filthy, stained carpet...we kept our shoes on

is this even a one star?

Great location by the Camarillo Premium Outlets and Edwards Cinemas.
The staff was great. I felt very safe and it was a nice clean room. They could use new carpeting. But, overall a great stay.

Perfect place for a couple of nights.
Free internet access, lots of tv channels and options to purchase movies, ok bedding, ok bathroom and free parking. Has a fridge (empty) and a microwave.
Best thing is the free full breakfast, they can make you eggs, waffles and more, great way to start a shopping day! (if you are going to the outlets, which are just 5 minutes away). Also this hotel, is far enough from the highway to guarantee a good night of sleep, unlike most of the other area places. The price is also great and beats by half the near by, same category hotels (Hilton and Hampton). I believe you get way more than what you had paid for in this place.
Whenever I am in camarillo again I will stay for sure.

WOW-Thank You for the glowing Review.

At-last it is not my Hotel that you stayed at, but given the chance we feel you may enjoy our hotel as well.

Some of the amenities that we offer: we have un-limited coffee in the lobby from 5 am until noon, we have a quick start breakfast from 6 am to 9 am (juice, muffins, danishes and tea), we have hairdryers/irons at the front desk for the asking, we have free parking, two very large ice machines for guest use, two coin driven washer/dryer's, good size pool with heated/jetted spa and at one time we had free WIFI unfortunately it was a very limited coverage area so we hired a vendor to provide the WIFI service and so now it cost 4.95 for 24 hours with full coverage.

Good Luck on your travels

hotel was very clean, comfortable and a great location right off freeway - near outlet mall, movie theater and several restaurants.

This Hotel/motel was fantastic value for money.

The rates were so good that to be honest I wasn't expecting much! I had hoped for a clean bed and that was all - after all you don't go to California to spend time in your room! But I was very pleasantly surprised.

We (my nine year old daughter and I) stayed for 14 days - very unusual for a hotel of this type! The room was clean (not new but clean) the bed was large and comfy.
We had a room next to the pool on the ground floor and it didn't smell musty (as some reviewers had mentioned) the air conditioning was very effective if a little noisy, but we were pretty shaded so didn't use it much. Like all hotels it had free ice from machines around the building.

The pool was large enough to swim and play and was cleaned regularly - the hot tub was a real bonus too! My daughter loved them both so much we ended up staying at least one full day by the pool so she could play/swim.
The road nearby was handy but not too noisy, and a walk along the sidewalk for 2 minutes took you straight to the Outlets for shopping, Cinema or eating. In the other direction a slightly longer walk (20 minutes) took you over the bridge to some other restaurants and more basic shops, or down to Old Town and the railway station for trains to LA.

Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily and sheets changed regularly. Toiletries were frequently replaced as were towels, and while these were basic, thin and not fluffy! they were clean and perfectly adequate. The breakfast was, as advertised, danish pastries, muffins, coffee and juice and there was always plenty, if the cakes ran out before 9 the staff were always happy to replenish them.
Parking was never a problem, a friend visited often and even when the hotel was full she was able to find a space. (I imagine if it was full then the nearby outlet car park could be used - it's a couple of minutes walk only.)

All in all this was a great hotel for a basic no frills cheap stay. I would definitely recommend them, and may even use them next time I visit.

We are regular readers of Tripadvisor.com but this is the first review we have written. I'm unclear how Good Nite Inn in Camarillo, California is rated so high based on our stay there last night. We went through Hotwire for our booking who has it rated as a 2.5 star accommodation and in the same category at Country Inn and Suites and Holiday Inn Express. Good Nite Inn is clearly not in the same category of either of the other two hotels and has some rather questionable business practices including being very insistent about putting you in a smoking room without your consent. As mentioned in other reviews, they then play the game of placing the blame of their practices on Hotwire and other online booking agencies and insist that you contact them if you have any complaints about the hotels services. Certainly, Hotwire should not have Good Nite Inn listed as a 2.5 hotel but it is my recommendation that unless you are interested in staying in a 1.0 star, noisy, poorly managed, and otherwise second rate hotel then you should avoid the Good Nite Inn in Camarillo, California.
