“Rudest Service Ever!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2009

My husband and I were in the mood for a sushi snack at 1pm Sunday afternoon as we were driving through Calistoga for the day. We ran across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The restaurant was mostly empty, with only 2 other customers. We were seated and given menus. We decided to share one Dragon Roll. If we felt the need for more, we would order more later. When the waitress took our order, she said that we could only order that Dragon Roll to go. We cannot be seated at the table or sushi bar unless we order a meal. She even confirmed this with the sushi chef. She suggested that we take it to our hotel to eat. It was 105 degrees outside and we didn't even have a hotel. But, for her to not allow us to eat in the restaurant due to a small order was amazingly rude. In all of our years of dining, we have never encountered anything like this.

“Love this Resturant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2008

I have been there many times and found the food fresh and presented very well. Service was great and the sushi chef is exellent. They have a great menue and outside dining.
If you like Sashami or Sushi you have to try this place.

“Very good Sushi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2008

We poped in for a some sushi to take away one afternoon and enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner one night.
The restaurant has only a few tables which quickly filled up. We had sushi and sashimi to start followed by tempura and teriyaki (chicken and beef).
I love sushi and have to say it was the best sushi I have ever had (rainbow sushi). This was presented beautifully too.

“It was good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2007

I went with my family (4). Service was fine & fast. Food was good. We especially enjoyed the "monkey roll," and the eel.

Waitress just took the order and no comments. In and out in 30 minutes.

“Don't waste your money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2007

This was very disappointing. The breading on the tempura vegetables was very heavy, not what I'd call a tempura batter. The chicken teriaki was the style with small pieces of dark meat, not a chicken breast. The salad was iceberg lettuce and red cabbage with small pieces of tomato, and if the lettuce/cabbage mix didn't come out of a bag it tasted like it did. I get better sushi from the concession in the local Safeway.
Service was prompt but "no frills." No "enjoy your dinner" or "Is everything OK?" and no offer to refill the teapot. Carbonated beverage was served in the bottle, no glass provided.
Plastic placemats supplied by a Japanese beer company gave a diner feel, but these aren't diner prices. Sharing one dinner, gyoza, and getting three kinds of sushi cost about $60. Spend your money elsewhere.
